Multivariable Pid Control Via Ilmis: Performances Assessment

Abstract

This paper addresses the problem of performance assessment for MIMO PID controllers. An efficient comparative analysis is established using two Iterative Linear Matrix Inequality (ILMI) approaches. To evaluate the robustness and the performances of each ILMI approach, four tests are carried out on the closed-loop system including White Gaussian noise, set point changes, parametric perturbation, and multiple time-delays influence. Different performance criterion such as IAE, ISE, ITAE and ITSE are also presented to evaluate the closed-loop system performances. The quadruple-tank process as a benchmark of minimum/non-minimum phase systems is applied to show the effectiveness and utility of the proposed analysis. The comparative analysis between the two PID controllers leads to nearly similar performance results in parametric perturbation and noise attenuation but different results in terms of set point changes, multiple time-delays influence and performance indices

Abstract

Radar scattering cross section (RCS) is an important parameter characteristic of exterior trajectory tracking system especially in moving state. The paper researches calculation method of RCS based on integral method from Maxwell equation, makes hybrid algorithm combined moment method and physical optics, by establishing the target modeling, uses FEKO to simulate the target RCS and complete fast modeling method research under static conditions. And then it discusses the accuracy of exterior trajectory radar tracking system in experiment, analyzes relationship between RCS with external trajectory and flight attitude, according to the static RCS characteristics with the same type of target in different station arrangement, inducts statistical rules fit the dynamic RCS statistical characteristics in space movement, analyzes its fluctuation rule, and build motion functions of relative angle between target gesture and radar incident direction, then gets RCS compute method during dynamic flight. We design the dynamic RCS simulation experiment under multiple arrangements, multiple targets and multiple angles, and explain simulation results

Abstrakt

Abstract

Energy control in Wireless Sensor Network is one of the most crucial technologies. Based on the acoustic object localization background, we designed a new structure of the sensor node to realize the energy efficiency in the power supply and artificial sleeping scheduling in this paper. The power control model is independent with data processing and control model and can separately realize the power supply for different part of the node. The node can transfer status according the different circumstance to minimize the energy consumption. Furthermore, a new synchronous sleeping/wake schedule mechanism in the medium access control layer is proposed. Sensor nodes can use the forwarding and listening status to schedule their better energy status on demanded. The experiment has been evaluated and analyzed in a test-bed. The result confirms the structure and the proposed mechanism are energy efficiency and gain better trade-off between the accuracy and efficiency

Abstract

With the application of wireless sensor networks become widespread, supply energy for these wireless sensors proves to be a significant issue. Moreover, for the ambient vibration lies everywhere, the vibration can supply energy for the wireless sensor via energy harvester. The piezoelectric energy harvester becomes the research focus for the simple structure and higher energy conversion efficiency. Due to the transcendental equation in distributed parameter model, the numerical method is become powerful complement for theoretical and experimental method. This paper uses ANSYS to analyze the single piezoelectric cantilever in static analysis, model analysis, harmonic response analysis and mechanical-electrical coupling analysis. It analyzes the natural frequency and voltage effect from four aspects which are length to thickness ratio, length to width ratio, the substrate thickness to piezoelectric thickness ratio and seismic mass. Amn-Pso Method For Jamming Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Network

Abstract

UAVs are attracting more and more attentions for their versatilities and low costs. This paper focuses on their security and considers launching jamming attacks on them. We firstly formulate the UAVs jamming problem. Secondly the PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm is introduced and new metrics like AJRL (Area for jamming a receiving link) and NJRL (Number of AJRLs) are defined. Then we provide a new jamming method AMN-PSO (Achieving Maximal NJRL based on PSO) for UAVs jamming attack. AMN-PSO includes the Tabu search concept to improve its performance. For evaluating the performance, AMN-PSO method together with other methods are simulated comprehensively. The simulation result shows that AMN-PSO performs better than other methods

Real-Time Forecasting Method of Urban Air Quality Based on Observation Sites and Thiessen Polygons

Abstract

This paper proposes a real-time urban air quality forecasting method based on monitoring sites and Thiessen polygon. Firstly, the concentration of pollutants affecting air quality is obtained through the real-time observations of the monitoring sites deployed in wireless sensor network, according to which the air quality index (AQI) can be calculated and air quality levels and categories can be graded. Then, Thiessen polygons are constructed based on the monitoring sites and the air quality conditions from the only site within any polygon will be the representative to that of any other points within this polygon. Finally, the monitoring sites and Thiessen polygons rendered with standard air quality colors will be visualized on a geographical map for the realization of real-time forecasting method taking Thiessen polygons as forecasting units. Taking Shanghai city as an example, a real-time and visualized air quality prediction platform has been constructed in downtown Shanghai city, the real-time visualization of urban air quality forecasting and early warnings under the constraints of Thiessen polygon have been realized

Data Compression And Visualization For Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract

A basic tenet of wireless sensor networks is that processing of data is less expensive in terms of power than transmitting data. A data compression method is proposed to limit the amount of data transmitted within the network. In this paper, we propose a novel data compression algorithm suitable for low power computing devices. In our method, a data point density algorithm is used to determine which points to discard in a given data region. This algorithm is applied to uniform sections throughout the entirety of the data set. Regions with the highest data point density will be represented by a single point. The resulting data points then form the compressed data set. The transmission and subsequent processing of this compressed data set will cause less strain on the network than the original data set, while still maintaining the required information of the original data set. A tool is developed to test the method and compare it with other methods

Kinematic Trajectories Reconstruction Based On Motors Encoders Feedback For A Rover Skidsteering Robot

Abstract

In this paper some procedures for accurately defining the kinematic trajectories described by skid-steering robots by using only the kinematic data of the wheels (or tracks) are presented and discussed. These procedures have been analysed with several experimental tests carried out moving a rover skid-steering robot on different surfaces. The particularity of the skid steering mobile robots is the presence of the high slippage effects that heavily influence the correct kinematic reconstruction by using the classical kinematic equation. For this reason, the possibility of using particular strategies based on the instantaneous centre radiuses is here considered; these strategies use parameters such as the equivalent ‘carriageway’, the slipping coefficients and the slipping ratio for including the effect of vehicle dynamics. Moreover, the effect of different surfaces is evident on the parameters that characterize the considered strategies for kinematic reconstruction; anyway, the high repeatability of the experiments carried out on the same conditions and a certain trend of the slipping ratio that seems to characterise the different types of surfaces, allow foreseeing positive developments of the considered strategies. The experiments have been carried out on a particular skid-steering robot (rover 4WD1); the generalization of the results for other types of skid-steering robot may be easily foreshadowed.

The original value of the paper is related to the systematic experimental validation of the procedures indicated and to the comments that may be very useful in defining the limits of the procedure for the kinematic reconstruction with high slipping effects

A Multi-Scheme Adaptive Routing Algorthm Based On Spray And Wait For Dalay Tolerant Networks

Abstract

Delay tolerant networks (DTNs) are a type of emerging mobile wireless network that experience long delays, intermittent disruption, buffer space and energy limitations, node irregularities and frequent mobility. To this end, many protocols take advantage of the flooding mechanism to increase the probability of successful message transmission. However, sending too many copies of each message may result in large network overhead and communication cost. Based on the Spray and Wait (S&W) algorithm, we propose an improved Adaptive Spray and Wait scheme, named ASW, for different delay tolerant network scenes. In this paper, we define a hybrid utility metric combined with multiple variables, delivery probability and similarity. Then, we distribute message copies in accordance with the proportion of the utility value to optimize the delivery ratio. Extensive simulations have been conducted to verify the efficiency of our proposed algorithm. In addition to the comparison, the results also show that our proposed algorithm achieves a better performance in terms of the delivery ratio and average latency than the other three protocols

Multiple support vector regression (SVR) machines are used to estimate the Jacobian matrix of images, and the nonlinear mapping between the image features of the curved line and the robot joint angle is constructed, uncalibrated robot impedance control can be carried out. An Adaptive Voice Activity Detection Algorithm

Abstract

Voice Activity Detection (VAD) is a crucial step for speech processing, which detecting accuracy and speed directly affects the effect of subsequent processing. Some voice processing system based phone or in the indoor environment, which need simple and quick method of VAD, for these representative voice signal, this paper proposes a new algorithm which is adaptive and quick based on a major improvement to Dual-Threshold endpoint detection algorithm. First the amplitude normalization is processed to the original voice signal, the characteristic is extracted by means of short-time amplitude, which can simplify operation. Then, large-scale (long frame-length and frame-shift) short-time amplitude is used for rough detection, combining adaptive threshold judgement of consecutive frames, which can find voice areas of start-point and end-point quickly. To these areas, small-scale (short frame-length and frame-shift) short-time amplitude is used for accurate detection, forward scanning is put to start-point area, reverse scanning is put to end-point area, combining adaptive threshold judgement of consecutive frames, start-point and end-point of the effective speech can be accurately located. Experimental results show that the method of this paper can detect endpoints of voice signal more quickly and accurately, which can improve recognition performance dramatically. Large-scale can increase detection speed, small-scale can improve detection accuracy, both can be adjusted to satisfy the different requirements. The method of this paper ensures both detection speed and precision, which has more flexibility and applicability

Prediction And Analysis Of Urban Heat Island Effect In Dangshan By Remote Sensing

Abstract

Vegetation index (NDVI) was extracted from bi-temporal multispectral images based on the data obtained from Landsat ETM+on 14th, September, 2000, Landsat ETM+on 9th, September, 2004, Landsat ETM+on 15th, May, 2008 and Landsat-8 on 21st, May 2013 for Dangshan County in Anhui Province. Analysis and data extraction was carried out using the ENVI 5.0 software. Normalized values of thermal radiation brightness temperature and surface brightness temperature were inverted from the bi-temporal thermal infrared band images using the mono-window algorithm. Urban heat island effect in Dangshan County was divided into strong green island zone, green island zone, normal zone, heat island zone and strong heat island zone according based on arithmetic progression. Using regression analysis, quantitative relationship between NDVI and the heat island effect was determined. Results showed an acceleration in urbanization of Dangshan County over the years resulted in a gradual increase in the heat island effect from 2000 to 2013. In addition, area of the heat island and strong heat island increased was observed to increase rapidly, while the area of the green island and strong green island reduced by 46%. Also, using the Markov model, urban heat island effect in Dangshan County was predicted over the next 40 years. This model was feasible in predicting the urban heat island effect with small errors. Finally, it was determine that heat island effect was in negative correlation to the vegetation index (NDVI), and increasing green land appropriately would have a positive effect in alleviating the urban heat island effect

Vehicle Model Recognition Based On Using Image Processing And Wavelet Analysis

Abstract

Today, using intelligent transport systems such as identifying vehicle type for monitoring traffic in urban areas can advantage a lot. In this paper, a new method has been presented to detect vehicle type with only one reference image per class. Our algorithm is based on searching mean gradients and analysing these changes by Daubechies wavelet transformation. Firstly, a feature vector is obtained based on the car boundary changes of the side view image in proposed system. This vector is then analyzed by Daubechies wavelet transformation and three statistical criteria; variance, norm-1 and norm-2 are extracted from wavelet coefficients. Finally, a similarity factor is defined to detect the same type of vehicles. The proposed algorithm is resistant against car edge negligible changes and the experimental results indicate the high performance of system in detecting the vehicle types

Discrete S-Transform Based Speech Enhancement

Abstract

S-transform (ST) is an effective time-frequency representation method with the advantages of short-time Fourier transform and wavelet transform. This paper utilizes the advantages of the power spectral subtraction method and the speech enhancement method to presents a novel speech enhancement algorithm based on discrete ST. Firstly, the speech in time domain is transformed by ST to joint time-frequency domain for spectral subtraction so that the clear speech spectrum can be obtained and then the inverse ST is performed to acquire the enhanced speech in time domain. Simulation experiment is done to verify the validity of the method. The experiment results show that the proposed method can effectively enhance the de-noising ability and improve the signal-to-noise ratio

A Mac And One-Way Function Based Filtering Scheme

Abstract

In optical sensor networks, the adversary can inject false reports and old packets, both of which can cause false alarms and drain out the limited energy of the network. Existing security mechanisms can detect and filter out only false reports but not the old packets during forwarding. Furthermore, they cannot resist cooperative attacks. A MAC and one-way function based Filtering Scheme (MOFS) was presented. Each node distributes its key and initial hash value to some other nodes after deployment. A data report must carry the MACs and fresh hash values from t detecting nodes. The forwarding nodes check the logicality of the relative position of the detecting nodes carried in the report, the correctness of the MACs and hash values, and the freshness of these hash values. Analysis and simulation results show that MOFS can not only filter false reports and old packets simultaneously, but also performs well on compromise toleration

High-speed solenoid valve (HSV) is the heart of electronic control fuel system for diesel engines, whose electromagnetic force (EF) determines the dynamic response speed of fuel system. The finite element model of HSV has been established and validated by experiment. Methods of experimental design and correlation analysis have been used for the simulation experiment. The effect laws of six key parameters’ interactions on EF under HSV’s overall operating conditions have been revealed from the results of the simulation. In addition, three key second-order factors’ interaction principles are explained. Results show that under overall operating conditions HSV’s EF is influenced not only by its parameters singly, but also parameters’ interactions

Sefp: A New Routing Approach Using Fuzzy Logic For Clustered Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are composed of set sensor nodes communicating through wireless channels with limited resources. Therefore, several routing protocols and approaches about energy efficient operation of WSNs have been proposed. Clustering algorithm based routing protocols are well used for efficient management of sensing sensor node energy resources. However, many researches were focused on optimization of well-known hierarchical routing approaches of WSNs using fuzzy logic system or heuristic methods. Most of these routing approaches haven’t considered the impact of heterogeneity of sensor nodes, in terms of their energy which is equipped with additional energy resources. In this paper, we propose stable election using three fuzzy parameters approach (SEFP) using fuzzy logic system for heterogeneous WSNs. The main purpose of this routing approach is to improve the network lifetime and particularly the stability period of the network. In the SEFP approach, the sensor node with the maximum chance value becomes a cluster head (CH) based in three fuzzy parameters such as residual energy of each sensor node, closeness to base station (BS), and sum of distances between particular sensor node and other sensor nodes (area distance). The Simulation results of heterogeneous WSNs shows that our approach using fuzzy logic system always preserves more energy as compared to well-known protocols such as LEACH and SEP. additionally, we found that our approach SEFP outperforms LEACH and SEP protocols in prolonging the lifetime and the stability period for heterogeneous WSNs

This paper deals with the design of the universal intelligent sensor interface. Incorporating UISI makes the system highly flexible because it gives the freedom of either attaching or detchaing various types of sensor. The front end of the UISI can be configured as per the connected sensor with the help of the TEDS information and the firmware. There are two 10pin connector provided for analog and digital sensors. There are various types of analog sensors. The digital sensor also uses various interfaces such as I2C, SPI and RS232. The detail about the type of sensor and interface it uses is stored in TEDS

Multivariable Pid Control Via Ilmis: Performances Assessment

Abstract

This paper addresses the problem of performance assessment for MIMO PID controllers. An efficient comparative analysis is established using two Iterative Linear Matrix Inequality (ILMI) approaches. To evaluate the robustness and the performances of each ILMI approach, four tests are carried out on the closed-loop system including White Gaussian noise, set point changes, parametric perturbation, and multiple time-delays influence. Different performance criterion such as IAE, ISE, ITAE and ITSE are also presented to evaluate the closed-loop system performances. The quadruple-tank process as a benchmark of minimum/non-minimum phase systems is applied to show the effectiveness and utility of the proposed analysis. The comparative analysis between the two PID controllers leads to nearly similar performance results in parametric perturbation and noise attenuation but different results in terms of set point changes, multiple time-delays influence and performance indices

Abstract

Radar scattering cross section (RCS) is an important parameter characteristic of exterior trajectory tracking system especially in moving state. The paper researches calculation method of RCS based on integral method from Maxwell equation, makes hybrid algorithm combined moment method and physical optics, by establishing the target modeling, uses FEKO to simulate the target RCS and complete fast modeling method research under static conditions. And then it discusses the accuracy of exterior trajectory radar tracking system in experiment, analyzes relationship between RCS with external trajectory and flight attitude, according to the static RCS characteristics with the same type of target in different station arrangement, inducts statistical rules fit the dynamic RCS statistical characteristics in space movement, analyzes its fluctuation rule, and build motion functions of relative angle between target gesture and radar incident direction, then gets RCS compute method during dynamic flight. We design the dynamic RCS simulation experiment under multiple arrangements, multiple targets and multiple angles, and explain simulation results

Abstract

Energy control in Wireless Sensor Network is one of the most crucial technologies. Based on the acoustic object localization background, we designed a new structure of the sensor node to realize the energy efficiency in the power supply and artificial sleeping scheduling in this paper. The power control model is independent with data processing and control model and can separately realize the power supply for different part of the node. The node can transfer status according the different circumstance to minimize the energy consumption. Furthermore, a new synchronous sleeping/wake schedule mechanism in the medium access control layer is proposed. Sensor nodes can use the forwarding and listening status to schedule their better energy status on demanded. The experiment has been evaluated and analyzed in a test-bed. The result confirms the structure and the proposed mechanism are energy efficiency and gain better trade-off between the accuracy and efficiency

With the application of wireless sensor networks become widespread, supply energy for these wireless sensors proves to be a significant issue. Moreover, for the ambient vibration lies everywhere, the vibration can supply energy for the wireless sensor via energy harvester. The piezoelectric energy harvester becomes the research focus for the simple structure and higher energy conversion efficiency. Due to the transcendental equation in distributed parameter model, the numerical method is become powerful complement for theoretical and experimental method. This paper uses ANSYS to analyze the single piezoelectric cantilever in static analysis, model analysis, harmonic response analysis and mechanical-electrical coupling analysis. It analyzes the natural frequency and voltage effect from four aspects which are length to thickness ratio, length to width ratio, the substrate thickness to piezoelectric thickness ratio and seismic mass. UAVs are attracting more and more attentions for their versatilities and low costs. This paper focuses on their security and considers launching jamming attacks on them. We firstly formulate the UAVs jamming problem. Secondly the PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm is introduced and new metrics like AJRL (Area for jamming a receiving link) and NJRL (Number of AJRLs) are defined. Then we provide a new jamming method AMN-PSO (Achieving Maximal NJRL based on PSO) for UAVs jamming attack. AMN-PSO includes the Tabu search concept to improve its performance. For evaluating the performance, AMN-PSO method together with other methods are simulated comprehensively. The simulation result shows that AMN-PSO performs better than other methods

Real-Time Forecasting Method of Urban Air Quality Based on Observation Sites and Thiessen Polygons

This paper proposes a real-time urban air quality forecasting method based on monitoring sites and Thiessen polygon. Firstly, the concentration of pollutants affecting air quality is obtained through the real-time observations of the monitoring sites deployed in wireless sensor network, according to which the air quality index (AQI) can be calculated and air quality levels and categories can be graded. Then, Thiessen polygons are constructed based on the monitoring sites and the air quality conditions from the only site within any polygon will be the representative to that of any other points within this polygon. Finally, the monitoring sites and Thiessen polygons rendered with standard air quality colors will be visualized on a geographical map for the realization of real-time forecasting method taking Thiessen polygons as forecasting units. Taking Shanghai city as an example, a real-time and visualized air quality prediction platform has been constructed in downtown Shanghai city, the real-time visualization of urban air quality forecasting and early warnings under the constraints of Thiessen polygon have been realized

Data Compression And Visualization For Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract

A basic tenet of wireless sensor networks is that processing of data is less expensive in terms of power than transmitting data. A data compression method is proposed to limit the amount of data transmitted within the network. In this paper, we propose a novel data compression algorithm suitable for low power computing devices. In our method, a data point density algorithm is used to determine which points to discard in a given data region. This algorithm is applied to uniform sections throughout the entirety of the data set. Regions with the highest data point density will be represented by a single point. The resulting data points then form the compressed data set. The transmission and subsequent processing of this compressed data set will cause less strain on the network than the original data set, while still maintaining the required information of the original data set. A tool is developed to test the method and compare it with other methods

Kinematic Trajectories Reconstruction Based On Motors Encoders Feedback For A Rover Skidsteering Robot

Abstract

In this paper some procedures for accurately defining the kinematic trajectories described by skid-steering robots by using only the kinematic data of the wheels (or tracks) are presented and discussed. These procedures have been analysed with several experimental tests carried out moving a rover skid-steering robot on different surfaces. The particularity of the skid steering mobile robots is the presence of the high slippage effects that heavily influence the correct kinematic reconstruction by using the classical kinematic equation. For this reason, the possibility of using particular strategies based on the instantaneous centre radiuses is here considered; these strategies use parameters such as the equivalent ‘carriageway’, the slipping coefficients and the slipping ratio for including the effect of vehicle dynamics. Moreover, the effect of different surfaces is evident on the parameters that characterize the considered strategies for kinematic reconstruction; anyway, the high repeatability of the experiments carried out on the same conditions and a certain trend of the slipping ratio that seems to characterise the different types of surfaces, allow foreseeing positive developments of the considered strategies. The experiments have been carried out on a particular skid-steering robot (rover 4WD1); the generalization of the results for other types of skid-steering robot may be easily foreshadowed.

The original value of the paper is related to the systematic experimental validation of the procedures indicated and to the comments that may be very useful in defining the limits of the procedure for the kinematic reconstruction with high slipping effects

A Multi-Scheme Adaptive Routing Algorthm Based On Spray And Wait For Dalay Tolerant Networks

Abstract

Delay tolerant networks (DTNs) are a type of emerging mobile wireless network that experience long delays, intermittent disruption, buffer space and energy limitations, node irregularities and frequent mobility. To this end, many protocols take advantage of the flooding mechanism to increase the probability of successful message transmission. However, sending too many copies of each message may result in large network overhead and communication cost. Based on the Spray and Wait (S&W) algorithm, we propose an improved Adaptive Spray and Wait scheme, named ASW, for different delay tolerant network scenes. In this paper, we define a hybrid utility metric combined with multiple variables, delivery probability and similarity. Then, we distribute message copies in accordance with the proportion of the utility value to optimize the delivery ratio. Extensive simulations have been conducted to verify the efficiency of our proposed algorithm. In addition to the comparison, the results also show that our proposed algorithm achieves a better performance in terms of the delivery ratio and average latency than the other three protocols

An Adaptive Voice Activity Detection Algorithm

Abstract

Voice Activity Detection (VAD) is a crucial step for speech processing, which detecting accuracy and speed directly affects the effect of subsequent processing. Some voice processing system based phone or in the indoor environment, which need simple and quick method of VAD, for these representative voice signal, this paper proposes a new algorithm which is adaptive and quick based on a major improvement to Dual-Threshold endpoint detection algorithm. First the amplitude normalization is processed to the original voice signal, the characteristic is extracted by means of short-time amplitude, which can simplify operation. Then, large-scale (long frame-length and frame-shift) short-time amplitude is used for rough detection, combining adaptive threshold judgement of consecutive frames, which can find voice areas of start-point and end-point quickly. To these areas, small-scale (short frame-length and frame-shift) short-time amplitude is used for accurate detection, forward scanning is put to start-point area, reverse scanning is put to end-point area, combining adaptive threshold judgement of consecutive frames, start-point and end-point of the effective speech can be accurately located. Experimental results show that the method of this paper can detect endpoints of voice signal more quickly and accurately, which can improve recognition performance dramatically. Large-scale can increase detection speed, small-scale can improve detection accuracy, both can be adjusted to satisfy the different requirements. The method of this paper ensures both detection speed and precision, which has more flexibility and applicability

Prediction And Analysis Of Urban Heat Island Effect In Dangshan By Remote Sensing

Abstract

Vegetation index (NDVI) was extracted from bi-temporal multispectral images based on the data obtained from Landsat ETM+on 14th, September, 2000, Landsat ETM+on 9th, September, 2004, Landsat ETM+on 15th, May, 2008 and Landsat-8 on 21st, May 2013 for Dangshan County in Anhui Province. Analysis and data extraction was carried out using the ENVI 5.0 software. Normalized values of thermal radiation brightness temperature and surface brightness temperature were inverted from the bi-temporal thermal infrared band images using the mono-window algorithm. Urban heat island effect in Dangshan County was divided into strong green island zone, green island zone, normal zone, heat island zone and strong heat island zone according based on arithmetic progression. Using regression analysis, quantitative relationship between NDVI and the heat island effect was determined. Results showed an acceleration in urbanization of Dangshan County over the years resulted in a gradual increase in the heat island effect from 2000 to 2013. In addition, area of the heat island and strong heat island increased was observed to increase rapidly, while the area of the green island and strong green island reduced by 46%. Also, using the Markov model, urban heat island effect in Dangshan County was predicted over the next 40 years. This model was feasible in predicting the urban heat island effect with small errors. Finally, it was determine that heat island effect was in negative correlation to the vegetation index (NDVI), and increasing green land appropriately would have a positive effect in alleviating the urban heat island effect

Vehicle Model Recognition Based On Using Image Processing And Wavelet Analysis

Abstract

Today, using intelligent transport systems such as identifying vehicle type for monitoring traffic in urban areas can advantage a lot. In this paper, a new method has been presented to detect vehicle type with only one reference image per class. Our algorithm is based on searching mean gradients and analysing these changes by Daubechies wavelet transformation. Firstly, a feature vector is obtained based on the car boundary changes of the side view image in proposed system. This vector is then analyzed by Daubechies wavelet transformation and three statistical criteria; variance, norm-1 and norm-2 are extracted from wavelet coefficients. Finally, a similarity factor is defined to detect the same type of vehicles. The proposed algorithm is resistant against car edge negligible changes and the experimental results indicate the high performance of system in detecting the vehicle types

Discrete S-Transform Based Speech Enhancement

S-transform (ST) is an effective time-frequency representation method with the advantages of short-time Fourier transform and wavelet transform. This paper utilizes the advantages of the power spectral subtraction method and the speech enhancement method to presents a novel speech enhancement algorithm based on discrete ST. Firstly, the speech in time domain is transformed by ST to joint time-frequency domain for spectral subtraction so that the clear speech spectrum can be obtained and then the inverse ST is performed to acquire the enhanced speech in time domain. Simulation experiment is done to verify the validity of the method. The experiment results show that the proposed method can effectively enhance the de-noising ability and improve the signal-to-noise ratio

A Mac And One-Way Function Based Filtering Scheme

In optical sensor networks, the adversary can inject false reports and old packets, both of which can cause false alarms and drain out the limited energy of the network. Existing security mechanisms can detect and filter out only false reports but not the old packets during forwarding. Furthermore, they cannot resist cooperative attacks. A MAC and one-way function based Filtering Scheme (MOFS) was presented. Each node distributes its key and initial hash value to some other nodes after deployment. A data report must carry the MACs and fresh hash values from t detecting nodes. The forwarding nodes check the logicality of the relative position of the detecting nodes carried in the report, the correctness of the MACs and hash values, and the freshness of these hash values. Analysis and simulation results show that MOFS can not only filter false reports and old packets simultaneously, but also performs well on compromise toleration

High-speed solenoid valve (HSV) is the heart of electronic control fuel system for diesel engines, whose electromagnetic force (EF) determines the dynamic response speed of fuel system. The finite element model of HSV has been established and validated by experiment. Methods of experimental design and correlation analysis have been used for the simulation experiment. The effect laws of six key parameters’ interactions on EF under HSV’s overall operating conditions have been revealed from the results of the simulation. In addition, three key second-order factors’ interaction principles are explained. Results show that under overall operating conditions HSV’s EF is influenced not only by its parameters singly, but also parameters’ interactions

Sefp: A New Routing Approach Using Fuzzy Logic For Clustered Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are composed of set sensor nodes communicating through wireless channels with limited resources. Therefore, several routing protocols and approaches about energy efficient operation of WSNs have been proposed. Clustering algorithm based routing protocols are well used for efficient management of sensing sensor node energy resources. However, many researches were focused on optimization of well-known hierarchical routing approaches of WSNs using fuzzy logic system or heuristic methods. Most of these routing approaches haven’t considered the impact of heterogeneity of sensor nodes, in terms of their energy which is equipped with additional energy resources. In this paper, we propose stable election using three fuzzy parameters approach (SEFP) using fuzzy logic system for heterogeneous WSNs. The main purpose of this routing approach is to improve the network lifetime and particularly the stability period of the network. In the SEFP approach, the sensor node with the maximum chance value becomes a cluster head (CH) based in three fuzzy parameters such as residual energy of each sensor node, closeness to base station (BS), and sum of distances between particular sensor node and other sensor nodes (area distance). The Simulation results of heterogeneous WSNs shows that our approach using fuzzy logic system always preserves more energy as compared to well-known protocols such as LEACH and SEP. additionally, we found that our approach SEFP outperforms LEACH and SEP protocols in prolonging the lifetime and the stability period for heterogeneous WSNs
