Design And Characterization Of Automated Color Sensor System

Abstrakt

Abstract

The paper presents a color sensor system that can process light reflected from a surface and produce a digital output representing the color of the surface. The end-user interface circuit requires only a 3-bit pseudo flash analog-to-digital converter (ADC) in place of the conventional/typical design comprising ADC, digital signal processor and memory. For scalability and compactness, the ADC was designed such that only two comparators were required regardless of the number of color/wavelength to be identified. The complete system design has been implemented in hardware (bread board) and fully characterized. The ADC achieved less than 0.1 LSB for both INL and DNL. The experimental results also demonstrate that the color sensor system is working as intended at 20 kHz while maintaining greater than 2.5 ENOB by the ADC. This work proved the design concept and the system will be realized with integrated circuit technology in future to improve its operating frequency.

The Design and Evaluation of a Strategy of Data Placement in Cloud Computing Platform

Abstrakt

Abstract

Cloud computing has become a new platform for personal computing. However, while designing the strategy of data placement, there still lacks the consideration of systematic diversity of distributed transaction costs. This paper proposes the use of genetic algorithms to address the data placement problem in cloud computing. This strategy has adequately considered the correlation between data slices to minimize the total cost of distributed transactions. Compared to other methods, genetic algorithms have proven to comprehensively consider the correlation between the data slices in cloud computing, therefore greatly reducing the amount and cost of distributed transactions.

Flexible E-Textile Sensors For Real-Time Health Monitoring At Microwave Frequencies

Abstract

This paper reports on testing of the performance of SmartLife® e-textile material. In particular, the response of the integrated conductive pathways at microwave frequencies in the region of 9 kHz to 6 GHz is investigated for both biomedical sensing and signal transmission purposes. The experimental results confirm the viability of exciting the e-textile material at ISM microwave frequencies at mW powers for the purposes of wearable non-invasive sensing. Custom made flexible microwave sensors suitable for integration into smart e-textile fabric were tested in their ability to perform real-time body parameters monitoring, in particular the level and composition of perspiration. Gradual change in both the resonant frequency peak and amplitude was recorded in the 2-3 GHz frequency range with increased volume of fluid (50-350 μl) when in contact with a 5×8 mm2 sensor.

This fabric with built-in textile sensors could serve as a platform for “high-tech designer outfits” for an advanced healthcare approach where real-time data on patient condition is transmitted wirelessly for immediate processing and corrective action if necessary. The novel sensor reported here was recently patented under milestone UK patent application number GB 2500000.

Precise Transhippment Control Of An Automated Magnetic-Guided Vehicle Using Optics Positioning

Abstrakt

Abstract

A parking position detection and control system is developed for precise transshipment of palletized materials between an automated guided vehicle (AGV) and a load transfer station. In order to align the roller conveyer of the AGV with that of the station, it is necessary for the AGV to detect the longitudinal, lateral and orientation deviations of its body with respect to the station. A pair of magnetic sensors is used to measure the lateral and orientation deviations of the AGV relative to a magnetic tape used as the guide-path. Fuzzy control is proposed to eliminate two deviations for path tracking that keeps the AGV on its path. A set of optics emitters and receivers is arranged on some specific points in the AGV and the station respectively to determine the longitudinal position for material transshipment, and to coordinate the transmission operation of two equipments. The experiment for the palletized materials transshipment shows that positioning control of our AGV parking system can achieve the accuracy, repeatability and reliability needed in industrial applications.

New Intelligent Classification Method Based On Improved Meb Algorithm

Abstrakt

Abstract

We present a simple approximate algorithm to compute the Minimum Enclosing Ball (MEB) of training samples in high dimensional Euclidean space. We prove theoretically that the proposed algorithm converges to the optimum within any precision quickly. Compared to popular MEB algorithms, it has the competitive performances on both training time and accuracy. Besides, the proposed algorithm does not need any extra requirement on kernels, it can be linked with extensive kernel methods, consequently. We also use the proposed algorithm to handle Binary Classification, Multi-class Classification, and Image Clustering problems. Experiments on both synthetic and real-world data sets demonstrate the validity of the algorithm we proposed.

Abstract

Human Computer Interaction moves forward in the field of sign language interpretation. Indian Sign Language (ISL) Interpretation system is a good way to help the Indian hearing impaired people to interact with normal people with the help of computer. As compared to other sign languages, ISL interpretation has got less attention by the researcher. In this paper, some historical background, need, scope and concern of ISL are given. Vision based hand gesture recognition system have been discussed as hand plays vital communication mode. Considering earlier reported work, various techniques available for hand tracking, segmentation, feature extraction and classification are listed. Vision based system have challenges over traditional hardware based approach; by efficient use of computer vision and pattern recognition, it is possible to work on such system which will be natural and accepted, in general.

An Artificial Immune Network Clustering Algorithm For Mangroves Remote Sensing Image

Abstract

Because of not needing training samples and performing the classification just according to the inherent similarity of data in the multidimensional space, unsupervised classification method now gets more and more attention by remote sensing data analyst. Duo to the special growth environment of mangroves, field measurements is difficult to be done to obtain training samples. Therefore unsupervised method provides a good adjunct way for the classification of mangroves remote sensing image. This paper presents an immune network based unsupervised classification method, which is not necessary to define complex objective function. By arbitrarily selecting a certain number of data to be training samples, the proposed algorithm mines the prior knowledge of the samples and selects a few samples to constitute the initial nodes of immune network. After the evolutionary of the immune network, the clustering results are obtained, combined with nearest neighbor classification mechanism, the classification is performed. The experiment results show that the proposed algorithm has better overall stability and can get better clustering result for mangroves remote sensing image than traditional clustering methods.

A Novel Packet Queuing And Scheduling Algorithm And Its Link Sharing Performance For Home Router

Abstract

A home router, or a home gateway, is the node that resides between a public network and a home network for computers to share Internet connections. To insert customized queuing and scheduling codes into the embedded Linux kernel is a way to make the Linux-based home routers support Quality of Service (QoS). It is desirable that the small Linux kernel adopts an efficient queuing and scheduling algorithm to support link sharing, priority and traffic shaping. The algorithm presented in this paper is based on the concept of hierarchical link-sharing and each class in the hierarchy is bound with a token bucket, which can shape the traffic of this class. The analysis and experiment results presented in the paper show that through the novel way of weighted fair token sharing, this proposed algorithm guarantees basic bandwidth service for each class and enables weighted fair sharing of excess bandwidth, with which home computers connected to the network share the Internet service evenly.

Nanostructured Znco2o4Thick Film As An Ethanol Sensor

Abstrakt

Abstract

Semiconductive nanometer-size material ZnCo2O4 was synthesized by a solution combustion reaction of inorganic reagents of Zn(NO3)3. 6H2O, Co(NO3)3.6H2O and glycine as a fuel. The process was a convenient, environment friendly, inexpensive and efficient preparation method for the ZnCo2O4 nanomaterial. The synthesized materials were characterized by TG/DTA, XRD, EDX, SEM, and TEM. Conductance responses of the nanocrystalline ZnCo2O4 thick film were measured by exposing the film to reducing gases like Acetone, Ethanol and CO2. It was found that the sensors exhibited various sensing responses to these gases at different operating temperature. Furthermore, the sensor exhibited a fast response and a good recovery. The results demonstrated that ZnCo2O4 can be used as a new type of gas-sensing material which has a high sensitivity and good selectivity to Ethanol 200 ppm.

Signal Sensing By The Architecture Of Embedded I/O Pad Circuits

Abstract

In this study, the detecting structures in an embedded CUP wafer, which are called sensors, are investigated through a contactless sensing analysis. These novel sensing structures, which were designed using the ADS 2009 platform and the design rules for the TSMC 0.18-μm CMOS process, were placed under bonding pads. However, signals would still pass through these I/O sensing structures (i.e., ESD devices or circuits) and become coupled up to the pads of the top-layer metal as square, sinusoidal, or ESD pulse waveforms are injected. Through the resulting sensing relationship, we could then judge whether or not the bottom circuit is a good candidate for EMI consideration. Eventually, it was found that during an ESD occurred situation, a strong signal coupling can be sensed by the ESD protection circuits, especially by gate-coupled ESD protection circuitry.

Pareto Optimal Robust Feedback Linearization Control Of A Nonlinear System With Parametric Uncertainties

Abstract

The problem of multi-objective robust feedback linearization controller design of nonlinear system with parametric uncertainties is solved in this paper. The main objective of this paper is to propose an optimal technique to design a robust feedback linearization controller with multi-objective genetic algorithm. A nonlinear system is considered as a benchmark and feedback linearization controller is designed for deterministic and probabilistic model of the benchmark. Three and four conflicting objective functions are used in Pareto design of feedback linearization controller for deterministic and probabilistic design, respectively. The simulation results reveal the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The Research On Cab Simulator Of Quay Crane Containers On Classical Washout Algorithm

Abstrakt

Abstract

The acceleration of the speed of the quay crane for containers has raised a higher demand to the dynamic simulation system which is the key part of the simulator in the coast container crane. So it is very necessary to do this research on it. This essay, aimed at the seat motion system of training simulator in the coast container crane, lays a study on the key points in the design of the proprioceptive simulation algorithm of the bridge crane simulator and proposes the realization method for it. This method can help to find the most proper washout point and optimizes the fixed parameter so as to be able to improve the simulation fidelity by offering a better system. It also establishes the simulation model by MATLAB on the basis of which it operates the simulation calculation and analysis on a group of practical motion data. The result shows that this algorithm provides an effective way for the application of the TDOF simulator.

A Lexicon-Corpus-based Unsupervised Chinese Word Segmentation Approach

Abstract

This paper presents a Lexicon-Corpus-based Unsupervised (LCU) Chinese word segmentation approach to improve the Chinese word segmentation result. Specifically, it combines advantages of lexicon-based approach and Corpus-based approach to identify out-of-vocabulary (OOV) words and guarantee segmentation consistency of the actual words in texts as well. In addition, a Forward Maximum Fixed-count Segmentation (FMFS) algorithm is developed to identify phrases in texts at first. Detailed rules and experiment results of LCU are presented, too. Compared with lexicon-based approach or corpus-based approach, LCU approach makes a great improvement in Chinese word segmentation, especially for identifying n-char words. And also, two evaluation indexes are proposed to describe the effectiveness in extracting phrases, one is segmentation rate (S), and the other is segmentation consistency degree (D).

Perceptual Hashing Algorithm For Speech Content Identification Based On Spectrum Entropy In Compressed Domain

Abstract

This paper proposes a new perceptual hashing algorithm for speech content identification with compressed domain based on MDCT (Modified Discrete Cosine Transform) Spectrum Entropy. It aims primarily to solve problems of large computational complexity and poor real-time performance that appear when applying traditional identification methods to the compressed speeches. The process begins by extracting the MDCT coefficients, which are the intermediately decoded results of compressed speeches in MP3 format. In order to reduce the computational complexity, these coefficients are divided into sub-bands and the energy of MDCT spectrum is then calculated. Subbands of MDCT spectrum energy are then mapped to a similar mass function in information entropy theory. The function will be used as a perceptual feature and set to extract binary hash values. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm keeps greater robustness to content-preserving operations while also maintaining efficiency. As a result of the partial decoding process, the real-time performance can meet the requirements of applications in real-time communication terminals.

Self-Tuning Fuzzy Speed Controller Of Travelling Wave Ultrasonic Motor

Abstract

Aiming at the nonlinear characteristic of ultrasonic motor, some control strategies have been proposed to control the rotating speed of ultrasonic motor. But most of these strategies are too complex to realize using a low-cost embedded device. In this paper, a simple fuzzy speed controller is designed for ultrasonic motor. Until now, there has no mature and theoretic design method of fuzzy controller. Therefore, experience of expert is often used as the base of design. It makes the design of fuzzy controller become a sophisticated task. In this paper, the design method of fuzzy controller based on fuzzy model is described in detail. Rules of the fuzzy controller are optimized offline using ant colony optimization, and the appropriate parameters of fuzzy controller are also ascertained during the process of optimization. The designed controller is used to control the rotating speed of traveling wave ultrasonic motor with the type of USR60. According to the difference between the actual responses with different speed References, a kind of online tuning method is proposed to modulate the proportional coefficient of fuzzy control. Experiments indicate the validity of the proposed fuzzy controller.

Research On Chips’ Defect Extraction Based On Image-Matching

Abstract

Image-matching is a basic task in image procession used to (geometrically) match two or more images such as different times, different sensors and different view points. Improved image-matching technology has been widely applied in medical image, remote sensing image, computer vision military and so on. What put forward at the present can be most divided into matching method based on gray and features. The article presents a scheme that is based on subtraction images matching with dynamic selection of templates, which overcomes these more sensitive disadvantages like gray, rotate, deformation and occlusion to achieve accurate calibration for different images.

Evaluation Of Different Sensing Approaches Concerning To Nondestructive Estimation Of Leaf Area Index (Lai) For Winter Wheat

Abstract

Different approaches of non-destructive estimation of the LAI in winter wheat were compared. Plant height had weak relation with the LAI, while estimated biomass showed high logarithmic relationship (R2=0.839). NDRE and REIP were logarithmically well related to the LAI (R2=0.726 and 0.779 respectively). Saturation effect of NDRE and REIP was less than NDVI. Some RGB-based indices also showed good potential to estimate the LAI. Among the indices, Gm, GMB, RMB, and NRMB were better related to the LAI. The results indicated that digital cameras can be used as an affordable and simple approach for assessment of the LAI of crops.

Moving Target Detection Based On Global Motion Estimation In Dynamic Environment

Abstract

AUV localization is not accurate based on sequence images if moving target is as landmark, so the moving target detection algorithm is studied based on global motion estimation, which detects and eliminates moving target according to the motion inconsistency of the moving target. Generally grid block matching is used in the global motion estimation, it can’t effectively dispose the dynamic background, and the gradient direction invariant moments descriptors method of free circular neighborhood based on feature points is proposed, which is effective for the background rotating and light changing in two adjacent images. For the matching points, the parameters of global motion are estimated robustly combined with normalized linear estimation method and least median squares. Experiments show that the designed algorithm can effectively estimate parameters of global motion, and eliminate the motion target as mismatch.

Active Modeling Based Yaw Control of Unmanned Rotorcraft

Abstract

With the characteristics of input nonlinearity, time-varying parameters and the couplings between main and tail rotor, it is difficult for the yaw dynamics of Rotorcraft to realize good tracking performance while maintaining stability and robustness simultaneously. In this paper, a new kind of robust controller design strategy based on active modeling technique is proposed to attenuate the uncertainties pre-described in the yaw control of unmanned systems. Firstly, by detailed analysis, the uncertainties are introduced into the new-designed yaw dynamics model by using the concept of modeling errors. Then, Kalman filter is used to estimate the modeling errors simultaneously, which is used subsequently to design the robust controller. Finally, the new strategy is tested with respect to the unmanned Rotorcraft system to show the feasibility and validity of it.

Predistortion System Implementation Based On Analog Neural Networks For Linearizing High Power Amplifiers Transfer Characteristics

Abstract

In order to correct non-linearities due to High Power Amplifiers (HPA) operating near saturation in telecommunication transceivers, a new adaptive predistortion system based on analog Neural Networks (NNs) was developed. Based on size, consumption and bandwidth considerations, Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) type NNs were implemented in a 0.6 μm CMOS ASIC. The NNs parameters are digitally updated with a computer, depending on simulation conditions (temperature drifts, ageing variations). The interface between the analog part and the software updating system is integrated in an analog-digital PCB including a FPGA, 6 analog-to-digital converters and 62 digital-to-analog converters. This paper describes the realization of each part of the breadboard system and presents experimental validation results of the whole predistortion module.

Abstrakt

Abstract

This paper presents the application of an embedded camera system for detecting laser spot in the shooting simulator. The proposed shooting simulator uses a specific target box, where the circular pattern target is mounted. The embedded camera is installed inside the box to capture the circular pattern target and laser spot image. To localize the circular pattern automatically, two colored solid circles are painted on the target. This technique allows the simple and fast color tracking to track the colored objects for localizing the circular pattern. The CMUCam4 is employed as the embedded camera. It is able to localize the target and detect the laser spot in real-time at 30 fps. From the experimental results, the errors in calculating shooting score and detecting laser spot are 3.82% and 0.68% respectively. Further the proposed system provides the more accurate scoring system in real number compared to the conventional integer number.

Design And Characterization Of Automated Color Sensor System

Abstrakt

Abstract

The paper presents a color sensor system that can process light reflected from a surface and produce a digital output representing the color of the surface. The end-user interface circuit requires only a 3-bit pseudo flash analog-to-digital converter (ADC) in place of the conventional/typical design comprising ADC, digital signal processor and memory. For scalability and compactness, the ADC was designed such that only two comparators were required regardless of the number of color/wavelength to be identified. The complete system design has been implemented in hardware (bread board) and fully characterized. The ADC achieved less than 0.1 LSB for both INL and DNL. The experimental results also demonstrate that the color sensor system is working as intended at 20 kHz while maintaining greater than 2.5 ENOB by the ADC. This work proved the design concept and the system will be realized with integrated circuit technology in future to improve its operating frequency.

Abstract

Cloud computing has become a new platform for personal computing. However, while designing the strategy of data placement, there still lacks the consideration of systematic diversity of distributed transaction costs. This paper proposes the use of genetic algorithms to address the data placement problem in cloud computing. This strategy has adequately considered the correlation between data slices to minimize the total cost of distributed transactions. Compared to other methods, genetic algorithms have proven to comprehensively consider the correlation between the data slices in cloud computing, therefore greatly reducing the amount and cost of distributed transactions.

Flexible E-Textile Sensors For Real-Time Health Monitoring At Microwave Frequencies

Abstract

This paper reports on testing of the performance of SmartLife® e-textile material. In particular, the response of the integrated conductive pathways at microwave frequencies in the region of 9 kHz to 6 GHz is investigated for both biomedical sensing and signal transmission purposes. The experimental results confirm the viability of exciting the e-textile material at ISM microwave frequencies at mW powers for the purposes of wearable non-invasive sensing. Custom made flexible microwave sensors suitable for integration into smart e-textile fabric were tested in their ability to perform real-time body parameters monitoring, in particular the level and composition of perspiration. Gradual change in both the resonant frequency peak and amplitude was recorded in the 2-3 GHz frequency range with increased volume of fluid (50-350 μl) when in contact with a 5×8 mm2 sensor.

This fabric with built-in textile sensors could serve as a platform for “high-tech designer outfits” for an advanced healthcare approach where real-time data on patient condition is transmitted wirelessly for immediate processing and corrective action if necessary. The novel sensor reported here was recently patented under milestone UK patent application number GB 2500000.

Precise Transhippment Control Of An Automated Magnetic-Guided Vehicle Using Optics Positioning

Abstract

A parking position detection and control system is developed for precise transshipment of palletized materials between an automated guided vehicle (AGV) and a load transfer station. In order to align the roller conveyer of the AGV with that of the station, it is necessary for the AGV to detect the longitudinal, lateral and orientation deviations of its body with respect to the station. A pair of magnetic sensors is used to measure the lateral and orientation deviations of the AGV relative to a magnetic tape used as the guide-path. Fuzzy control is proposed to eliminate two deviations for path tracking that keeps the AGV on its path. A set of optics emitters and receivers is arranged on some specific points in the AGV and the station respectively to determine the longitudinal position for material transshipment, and to coordinate the transmission operation of two equipments. The experiment for the palletized materials transshipment shows that positioning control of our AGV parking system can achieve the accuracy, repeatability and reliability needed in industrial applications.

New Intelligent Classification Method Based On Improved Meb Algorithm

Abstract

We present a simple approximate algorithm to compute the Minimum Enclosing Ball (MEB) of training samples in high dimensional Euclidean space. We prove theoretically that the proposed algorithm converges to the optimum within any precision quickly. Compared to popular MEB algorithms, it has the competitive performances on both training time and accuracy. Besides, the proposed algorithm does not need any extra requirement on kernels, it can be linked with extensive kernel methods, consequently. We also use the proposed algorithm to handle Binary Classification, Multi-class Classification, and Image Clustering problems. Experiments on both synthetic and real-world data sets demonstrate the validity of the algorithm we proposed.

Abstract

Human Computer Interaction moves forward in the field of sign language interpretation. Indian Sign Language (ISL) Interpretation system is a good way to help the Indian hearing impaired people to interact with normal people with the help of computer. As compared to other sign languages, ISL interpretation has got less attention by the researcher. In this paper, some historical background, need, scope and concern of ISL are given. Vision based hand gesture recognition system have been discussed as hand plays vital communication mode. Considering earlier reported work, various techniques available for hand tracking, segmentation, feature extraction and classification are listed. Vision based system have challenges over traditional hardware based approach; by efficient use of computer vision and pattern recognition, it is possible to work on such system which will be natural and accepted, in general.

An Artificial Immune Network Clustering Algorithm For Mangroves Remote Sensing Image

Abstract

Because of not needing training samples and performing the classification just according to the inherent similarity of data in the multidimensional space, unsupervised classification method now gets more and more attention by remote sensing data analyst. Duo to the special growth environment of mangroves, field measurements is difficult to be done to obtain training samples. Therefore unsupervised method provides a good adjunct way for the classification of mangroves remote sensing image. This paper presents an immune network based unsupervised classification method, which is not necessary to define complex objective function. By arbitrarily selecting a certain number of data to be training samples, the proposed algorithm mines the prior knowledge of the samples and selects a few samples to constitute the initial nodes of immune network. After the evolutionary of the immune network, the clustering results are obtained, combined with nearest neighbor classification mechanism, the classification is performed. The experiment results show that the proposed algorithm has better overall stability and can get better clustering result for mangroves remote sensing image than traditional clustering methods.

A Novel Packet Queuing And Scheduling Algorithm And Its Link Sharing Performance For Home Router

Abstract

A home router, or a home gateway, is the node that resides between a public network and a home network for computers to share Internet connections. To insert customized queuing and scheduling codes into the embedded Linux kernel is a way to make the Linux-based home routers support Quality of Service (QoS). It is desirable that the small Linux kernel adopts an efficient queuing and scheduling algorithm to support link sharing, priority and traffic shaping. The algorithm presented in this paper is based on the concept of hierarchical link-sharing and each class in the hierarchy is bound with a token bucket, which can shape the traffic of this class. The analysis and experiment results presented in the paper show that through the novel way of weighted fair token sharing, this proposed algorithm guarantees basic bandwidth service for each class and enables weighted fair sharing of excess bandwidth, with which home computers connected to the network share the Internet service evenly.

Nanostructured Znco2o4Thick Film As An Ethanol Sensor

Abstrakt

Abstract

Semiconductive nanometer-size material ZnCo2O4 was synthesized by a solution combustion reaction of inorganic reagents of Zn(NO3)3. 6H2O, Co(NO3)3.6H2O and glycine as a fuel. The process was a convenient, environment friendly, inexpensive and efficient preparation method for the ZnCo2O4 nanomaterial. The synthesized materials were characterized by TG/DTA, XRD, EDX, SEM, and TEM. Conductance responses of the nanocrystalline ZnCo2O4 thick film were measured by exposing the film to reducing gases like Acetone, Ethanol and CO2. It was found that the sensors exhibited various sensing responses to these gases at different operating temperature. Furthermore, the sensor exhibited a fast response and a good recovery. The results demonstrated that ZnCo2O4 can be used as a new type of gas-sensing material which has a high sensitivity and good selectivity to Ethanol 200 ppm.

Signal Sensing By The Architecture Of Embedded I/O Pad Circuits

Abstract

In this study, the detecting structures in an embedded CUP wafer, which are called sensors, are investigated through a contactless sensing analysis. These novel sensing structures, which were designed using the ADS 2009 platform and the design rules for the TSMC 0.18-μm CMOS process, were placed under bonding pads. However, signals would still pass through these I/O sensing structures (i.e., ESD devices or circuits) and become coupled up to the pads of the top-layer metal as square, sinusoidal, or ESD pulse waveforms are injected. Through the resulting sensing relationship, we could then judge whether or not the bottom circuit is a good candidate for EMI consideration. Eventually, it was found that during an ESD occurred situation, a strong signal coupling can be sensed by the ESD protection circuits, especially by gate-coupled ESD protection circuitry.

Abstract

The problem of multi-objective robust feedback linearization controller design of nonlinear system with parametric uncertainties is solved in this paper. The main objective of this paper is to propose an optimal technique to design a robust feedback linearization controller with multi-objective genetic algorithm. A nonlinear system is considered as a benchmark and feedback linearization controller is designed for deterministic and probabilistic model of the benchmark. Three and four conflicting objective functions are used in Pareto design of feedback linearization controller for deterministic and probabilistic design, respectively. The simulation results reveal the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract

The acceleration of the speed of the quay crane for containers has raised a higher demand to the dynamic simulation system which is the key part of the simulator in the coast container crane. So it is very necessary to do this research on it. This essay, aimed at the seat motion system of training simulator in the coast container crane, lays a study on the key points in the design of the proprioceptive simulation algorithm of the bridge crane simulator and proposes the realization method for it. This method can help to find the most proper washout point and optimizes the fixed parameter so as to be able to improve the simulation fidelity by offering a better system. It also establishes the simulation model by MATLAB on the basis of which it operates the simulation calculation and analysis on a group of practical motion data. The result shows that this algorithm provides an effective way for the application of the TDOF simulator.

A Lexicon-Corpus-based Unsupervised Chinese Word Segmentation Approach

Abstract

This paper presents a Lexicon-Corpus-based Unsupervised (LCU) Chinese word segmentation approach to improve the Chinese word segmentation result. Specifically, it combines advantages of lexicon-based approach and Corpus-based approach to identify out-of-vocabulary (OOV) words and guarantee segmentation consistency of the actual words in texts as well. In addition, a Forward Maximum Fixed-count Segmentation (FMFS) algorithm is developed to identify phrases in texts at first. Detailed rules and experiment results of LCU are presented, too. Compared with lexicon-based approach or corpus-based approach, LCU approach makes a great improvement in Chinese word segmentation, especially for identifying n-char words. And also, two evaluation indexes are proposed to describe the effectiveness in extracting phrases, one is segmentation rate (S), and the other is segmentation consistency degree (D).

Perceptual Hashing Algorithm For Speech Content Identification Based On Spectrum Entropy In Compressed Domain

Abstract

This paper proposes a new perceptual hashing algorithm for speech content identification with compressed domain based on MDCT (Modified Discrete Cosine Transform) Spectrum Entropy. It aims primarily to solve problems of large computational complexity and poor real-time performance that appear when applying traditional identification methods to the compressed speeches. The process begins by extracting the MDCT coefficients, which are the intermediately decoded results of compressed speeches in MP3 format. In order to reduce the computational complexity, these coefficients are divided into sub-bands and the energy of MDCT spectrum is then calculated. Subbands of MDCT spectrum energy are then mapped to a similar mass function in information entropy theory. The function will be used as a perceptual feature and set to extract binary hash values. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm keeps greater robustness to content-preserving operations while also maintaining efficiency. As a result of the partial decoding process, the real-time performance can meet the requirements of applications in real-time communication terminals.

Self-Tuning Fuzzy Speed Controller Of Travelling Wave Ultrasonic Motor

Abstract

Aiming at the nonlinear characteristic of ultrasonic motor, some control strategies have been proposed to control the rotating speed of ultrasonic motor. But most of these strategies are too complex to realize using a low-cost embedded device. In this paper, a simple fuzzy speed controller is designed for ultrasonic motor. Until now, there has no mature and theoretic design method of fuzzy controller. Therefore, experience of expert is often used as the base of design. It makes the design of fuzzy controller become a sophisticated task. In this paper, the design method of fuzzy controller based on fuzzy model is described in detail. Rules of the fuzzy controller are optimized offline using ant colony optimization, and the appropriate parameters of fuzzy controller are also ascertained during the process of optimization. The designed controller is used to control the rotating speed of traveling wave ultrasonic motor with the type of USR60. According to the difference between the actual responses with different speed References, a kind of online tuning method is proposed to modulate the proportional coefficient of fuzzy control. Experiments indicate the validity of the proposed fuzzy controller.

Abstract

Image-matching is a basic task in image procession used to (geometrically) match two or more images such as different times, different sensors and different view points. Improved image-matching technology has been widely applied in medical image, remote sensing image, computer vision military and so on. What put forward at the present can be most divided into matching method based on gray and features. The article presents a scheme that is based on subtraction images matching with dynamic selection of templates, which overcomes these more sensitive disadvantages like gray, rotate, deformation and occlusion to achieve accurate calibration for different images.

Evaluation Of Different Sensing Approaches Concerning To Nondestructive Estimation Of Leaf Area Index (Lai) For Winter Wheat

Abstract

Different approaches of non-destructive estimation of the LAI in winter wheat were compared. Plant height had weak relation with the LAI, while estimated biomass showed high logarithmic relationship (R2=0.839). NDRE and REIP were logarithmically well related to the LAI (R2=0.726 and 0.779 respectively). Saturation effect of NDRE and REIP was less than NDVI. Some RGB-based indices also showed good potential to estimate the LAI. Among the indices, Gm, GMB, RMB, and NRMB were better related to the LAI. The results indicated that digital cameras can be used as an affordable and simple approach for assessment of the LAI of crops.

Moving Target Detection Based On Global Motion Estimation In Dynamic Environment

Abstract

AUV localization is not accurate based on sequence images if moving target is as landmark, so the moving target detection algorithm is studied based on global motion estimation, which detects and eliminates moving target according to the motion inconsistency of the moving target. Generally grid block matching is used in the global motion estimation, it can’t effectively dispose the dynamic background, and the gradient direction invariant moments descriptors method of free circular neighborhood based on feature points is proposed, which is effective for the background rotating and light changing in two adjacent images. For the matching points, the parameters of global motion are estimated robustly combined with normalized linear estimation method and least median squares. Experiments show that the designed algorithm can effectively estimate parameters of global motion, and eliminate the motion target as mismatch.

Active Modeling Based Yaw Control of Unmanned Rotorcraft

Abstract

With the characteristics of input nonlinearity, time-varying parameters and the couplings between main and tail rotor, it is difficult for the yaw dynamics of Rotorcraft to realize good tracking performance while maintaining stability and robustness simultaneously. In this paper, a new kind of robust controller design strategy based on active modeling technique is proposed to attenuate the uncertainties pre-described in the yaw control of unmanned systems. Firstly, by detailed analysis, the uncertainties are introduced into the new-designed yaw dynamics model by using the concept of modeling errors. Then, Kalman filter is used to estimate the modeling errors simultaneously, which is used subsequently to design the robust controller. Finally, the new strategy is tested with respect to the unmanned Rotorcraft system to show the feasibility and validity of it.

Predistortion System Implementation Based On Analog Neural Networks For Linearizing High Power Amplifiers Transfer Characteristics

Abstract

In order to correct non-linearities due to High Power Amplifiers (HPA) operating near saturation in telecommunication transceivers, a new adaptive predistortion system based on analog Neural Networks (NNs) was developed. Based on size, consumption and bandwidth considerations, Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) type NNs were implemented in a 0.6 μm CMOS ASIC. The NNs parameters are digitally updated with a computer, depending on simulation conditions (temperature drifts, ageing variations). The interface between the analog part and the software updating system is integrated in an analog-digital PCB including a FPGA, 6 analog-to-digital converters and 62 digital-to-analog converters. This paper describes the realization of each part of the breadboard system and presents experimental validation results of the whole predistortion module.
