Energy Profiles as a Method for Minimizing Weight of Hybrid Power Supply Systems

Abstrakt

Abstract

This article presents an analysis of energy demand by a group of portable military use appliances. This analysis was used by the author to offer an solution aimed at reducing the weight of the power supply system. This solution is based on energy profiles which were derived from the analyses and measurements, and on applying appropriately modified hybrid supply sources. Catalogue data are often used in support of an analysis of performance of electronic appliances. For a user, documents prepared by a manufacturer are the main source of information concerned with the amount and quality of electric energy sources required for the appliance to work properly. Investigations carried out in real conditions often verify this data, which provides a base for seeking alternative solutions in the course of designing new sources of power, e.g. such as the ones proposed in the article.

Vibration Diagnostics of the Naval Propulsion Systems

Abstrakt

Abstract

The paper presents examples of vibration performances of the naval propulsion systems. It describes the methodology of preparation for measurement, used gauges and their restrictions. The necessity of synchronous measurements had been justified. The work contains also samples of analysis, to facilitate the reader with the components of amplitude-frequency spectra of naval propulsion systems. An overview of the existing normative documents had been presented. At the same time limitations of applying of them during technical monitoring of marine propulsion systems had been presented.

Pollutions of the Hyperbaric Breathing Atmosphere

Abstrakt

Abstract

The Sweedish project codenamed DykSMART was carried out in 2013-2015. The results of this project created the base for for international project #R024 Diving with State Maritime Resources in the Baltic DiveSMART-Baltic of Interreg Baltic Sea Region launched in 2016. The Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme 2014-2020 supports the integrated territorial development and cooperation for a more innovative, better accessible and sustainable Baltic Sea region. Partners from the countries around the Baltic Sea work together in transnational projects on common key challenges and opportunities. DiveSMART project is dedicated to improved coordination concerning the organizations with emergency divers, in order to be able to handle an international emergency situation: - to be aware of which diving competences are available, and also relevant diving equipment; - common international exercises; - knowledge of education and definitions of various levels of competence; - research & development. The project DiveSMART Baltic has received Flagship status. The article is the first in the planned cycle of articles referring to the tasks realised in the Naval Academy within the framework of DiveSMART project. This article presents a review of pollutants of the hyperbaric breathing agent in connection with their toxic action. This subject is linked to the work package four of the DiveSMART project Risk reduction - develop and enhance methods for life support systems of distressed persons in both physical and psychological areas.

Abstract

This paper presents mathematical interdependences in converting geodetic coordinates into flat rectangular coordinates and inverse transformation recommended in the Ordinance by Prime Minister on the State System of Spatial References. It especially presents formulas contained in works by M. Hooijberg (1997) Practical Geodesy and R. Kadaj (2001) Projection Formulas and Parameters of Coordinate Systems. G-1.10. In order to illustrate uses of the presented formulas relevant calculation examples based on the reference ellipsoids WGS 84 and GRS 80 are included.

Abstrakt

Abstract

The material presents an analysis of the impact that the parameters of air hyperbaric exposure have on the time remaining to the beginning of the first ventilation, as calculated with two mathematical models. The research has been conducted in the form of simulations that take into account standard parameters of exposure. Differences between the analysed models have been indicated, and the influence of the changes of particular input values in the analysed models on the output values has been defined.

Operational Diagnostics Synthesis of the Naval Gas Turbines Operated by the Polish Navy

Abstrakt

Abstract

The article presents overall energy research conducted by the Polish Naval Academy for the purpose of operational diagnostics of the naval gas turbines operated by the Polish Navy. In this article are presented the purpose and methodology of research, identification of the object of research and test equipment used for research. The research results will be presented in another article Analysis operational parameters of the naval gas turbines. As far as the Polish Navy vessels are concerned, there were four types of the naval gas turbines operated in the years 1983-2003: DE 59, DR 76, DR 77 and LM 2500. Currently, since 2013, there are four LM 2500 engines in service, which drive ‘Oliver Hazard Perry’ type missile frigates. In the near term, an another LM 2500 engine along with a 661M type patrol boat will become operational. Within the framework of energy research, the engine starting process, running on idle and in the whole range of variation of load as well as the process of stopping the engines will be placed under systematic operational surveillance.

Simulation of the Impact Resistance of Kilo Type Submarine Loaded with Non-Contact Mine Explosion

Abstrakt

Abstract

The paper presents simulations of the state of stress and deformation of the Kilo class submarine hull loaded from pressure wave of non-contact mine explosion. To accomplish the task the finite element method was used. Pressure wave was described by T. L. Geers and K. S. Hunter model. The way of modeling the pressure wave using the acoustic medium implemented to CAE programs was shown. To describe the material an elastic-plastic model of Jonson-Cook which takes into account the speed of deformation was used. The paper presents pressure distribution on the Kilo type submarine hull exposed on 100 kg of TNT explosion load in front of the bow of the ship.
