Analysis of Ice Conditions in the Baltis Sea and in the Puck Bay

Data publikacji: 29 Sep 2017
Zakres stron: 13 - 31

Abstrakt

Abstract

The paper presents results of research based on analysis of ice conditions in the Baltic Sea and in the Puck Bay. Analyses are concerned on the last century the maximum ice extents in the Baltic Sea (1915-2015) and ice conditions in the Puck Bay (1986-2005). Ice conditions in the Baltic Sea are generally of average intensity and depend mainly on the type of winters (mild, average/ normal and severe), however, the Baltic bays and gulfs cover the sea ice almost every year. The average ice extent in the Baltic Sea during typical winters, the ice extent in the Baltic Sea during winters in years from 1915 to 2015 and the average time limits the occurrence of the first ice, number of days with ice, ice thickness, terms the disappearance of the last ice in the Puck Bay together with examples of ice forms are presented in this paper. The phenomenon of ice has a significant impact on human activities in the sea, have an effect on weather and climate, plant and animal life, fishery and ports activities and the safety of navigation.

Towards 5G – C Loud-Based Radio Access Networks

Data publikacji: 29 Sep 2017
Zakres stron: 33 - 41

Abstrakt

Abstract

In the paper a general concept of the 5G network architecture is presented as well as system requirements having impact on innovative solutions in the 5G network are highlighted. A major part of the paper is both presentation and discussion of the problem of Cloud Radio Access Network introduction for public networks in which the cell and resource virtualisation will be implemented. On the other hand, the problem of resource virtualization in the STRUGA system is discussed in which the C-RAN implementation is proposed for performance improvement.

Signal Generation and Verification Process for the Physical Modeling of Ocean Waves

Data publikacji: 29 Sep 2017
Zakres stron: 43 - 53

Abstrakt

Abstract

This paper presents the implementation process of the design methodology for ocean waves in a laboratory tank using a wave generator, which is the basis for conducting hydrodynamic model scale research involving real sea conditions. The main focus is placed on generation of time sequences used as the control input for the wave generator and experimental verification methods for the generated waves and concluding with the results and validation of the developed process by achieving wave parameters sufficiently aligned with the theoretical model.

Polish Experience in Developing and Employing Unmanned Surface Vehicles At Sea

Data publikacji: 29 Sep 2017
Zakres stron: 55 - 75

Abstrakt

Abstract

This article is based on an analysis of missions carried out by unmanned surface vehicles (USVs). It discusses measures taken in Poland to develop such vehicles, designed to provide support to operations conducted by the country’s maritime services, security and monitoring of seaports and critical objects. It summarizes the results of research and development efforts and presents a new approach to employing these vehicles throughout the world.

Overview of Cooperative Communication Methods

Data publikacji: 29 Sep 2017
Zakres stron: 77 - 86

Abstrakt

Abstract

The paper presents issues related to the cooperative communication in wireless networks. Cooperative communication involves the use of mobile terminals as relay stations to improve the transmission quality, improve network performance and reduce energy consumption. It is also possible to use several different data transmission standards. The paper presents the methods used to implement cooperative communication. The types of cooperative communication networks are also presented.

Simulator for the RS Operator Using Visual Depiction

Data publikacji: 29 Sep 2017
Zakres stron: 87 - 95

Abstrakt

Abstract

The high operational cost of exploitation of armaments in near-battle conditions and numerous restrictions in use of the battle equipment in places of permanent deployment have contributed to seek new training methods. In recent years, there has been a rapid development of simulators used in the process of education and in-service training associated with the technological advancement and the modernization of the armed forces of the Republic of Poland. In this article, an experimental model of the simulator was introduced for the operator of manual tracking (RS) using a visual system. This model was built by the authors as part of their master’s thesis. It allows either manual or automatic tracking of targets against the simulated background and gives a grade to the operator based on the accuracy achieved while tracking the target. The solution suggested by the authors may raise the effectiveness of training of operators using television- optical systems, as well as reduce the associated operating costs of the weaponry.

Digital Phase - Location System for Marine Applications

Data publikacji: 29 Sep 2017
Zakres stron: 97 - 106

Abstrakt

Abstract

This paper presents concept and implementation of digital phase-location system, designed as a navigational aid for marine applications. Main feature of proposed system is the ability to work in both synchronous mode, with one master station and set of slave stations synchronized with master, and in asynchronous mode with independent clocking of all stations.

An Operational Calculus Model for the nTH – Order Forward Difference

Data publikacji: 29 Sep 2017
Zakres stron: 107 - 117

Abstrakt

Abstract

In this paper, there has been constructed such a model of a non-classical Bittner operational calculus, in which the derivative is understood as a forward difference Δn{x(k)}:={x(k+n)-x(k)}. Next, considering the operation Δn,b{x(k)}:={x(k+n)-bx(k)}, the presented model has been generalized.
