<sec><h3>Purpose</h3>
<p>The aim of this article is to identify areas of uncertainty that may affect sustainable management in the cruise shipping market in Northern Europe and define the directions of sustainable management undertaken by the entities participating in this market.</p>
</sec>
<sec><h3>Design/methodology/approach</h3>
<p>Several research methods were used in the work, i.e., analysis of existing materials, desk research, exploratory method, and case studies. Comparative analysis and critical analysis were also carried out. A few research questions were also developed and are described in the methodology section.</p>
</sec>
<sec><h3>Findings</h3>
<p>The statements showed that cruise shipping companies have been strongly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the war with Russia, which also to some extent forced them to revise their priorities within sustainable management.</p>
</sec>
<sec><h3>Practical implications</h3>
<p>Examples of good practice on sustainable management may be an interesting cognitive source of knowledge, both for the representatives of seaports in coastal destinations, as well as for cruise shipping companies.</p>
</sec>
<sec><h3>Social implications</h3>
<p>The cruise shipowners’ awareness of the negative impact of cruise shipping development upon the quality of local communities’ life in coastal destinations is considered to be a key aspect of sustainable management.</p>
</sec>
<sec><h3>Originality/value</h3>
<p>The review of literature revealed a lack of publications regarding the issue of sustainable management in the cruise shipping market, particularly with a view to changing the approach to sustainable management in the context of the events faced by cruise lines and seaports around the world in recent years.</p>

Sustainable management in the time of uncertainty on the cruise shipping market

<sec><h3>Purpose</h3>
<p>The article aims to analyze organizational politics (OP) as a construct with four dimensions: planning, improvisational, learning, and entrepreneurial. We also examine the relationship between strategic political management and OP and between OP and the organizational effectiveness of a company, which is understood to be a competitive advantage. Finally, we aim to verify whether there is a mediating role for OP in the association of strategic political management and organizational effectiveness of an enterprise, also understood to be a competitive advantage.</p>

<sec><h3>Design/methodology/approach</h3>
<p>Quantitative research was conducted on a sample of 355 medium-sized and large enterprises operating in Poland.</p>
</sec>
<sec><h3>Findings</h3>
<p>OP is a construct with four dimensions: planning, improvisational, learning, and entrepreneurial. Also, the supposition OP is positively related to the organizational effectiveness of a company was confirmed. We did not, however, find enough evidence to support hypotheses about the relationship between strategic political management and OP and the mediating role of OP in the association of strategic political management and organizational effectiveness of an enterprise.</p>
</sec>
<sec><h3>Practical implications</h3>
<p>The article sheds light on the potential use of OP as a strategic management tool. Authors argue enterprises that can use the opportunities of functional politics become strategically stronger than those that do not have this ability. In particular, enterprise management instruments should include OP as an inalienable medium for enterprise growth.</p>
</sec>
<sec><h3>Originality/value</h3>
<p>This paper offers some theoretical considerations and empirical research on OP's meaning for a company operating in a dynamic and hostile environment and OP's influence on organizational effectiveness.</p>

The relationship between organizational politics, strategic political management, and competitive advantage

<p>The impact of data, information, and knowledge on teaching and learning is more important than ever. The dynamic development of technology based on digitization, robotization, and networking is transforming the world of business and science, and universities play an extremely important role in this process. The digitization of the socioeconomic environment forces changes towards technologization. The educational process should be substantive and organized in such a way that students not only learn about technological solutions but also have the skills and competences to apply knowledge in practice. An example of such activity is the teaching and learning of logistics with the use of distance learning methods and techniques. The aim of this article is to identify the possibilities of using e-learning in teaching logistics to face the challenges of the future. The information is based on secondary and primary sources. This article uses qualitative and quantitative mixed research methods. On the one hand, books and reports, scientific articles, and Internet sources were examined during the desk research phase. On the other hand, the use of e-learning in teaching logistics at selected universities in Poland was tested using the diagnostic survey method, which involved computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI). The collected material showed the need for using e-learning in teaching logistics. Logistics companies need employees with digital competences and skills. Therefore, using new technologies already in the education process is justified. Learning with the use of remote methods and techniques represents the essential components of the requirements of the university's technological ecosystem. The analysis of the material leads to the conclusion that the implementation of technology into the didactic process as such is not sufficient. Adoption of modern methods and technologies requires a comprehensive approach to managing educational units. It is important that the propagation of modern forms of teaching has the understanding and support of users who are an inherent component of the educational ecosystem structure.</p>
