This article introduces the development history of fractional calculus and expounds on the positive significance of fractional calculus in integrating higher mathematics teaching. The author introduces an ordinary differential equation model case appropriately. In this way, ordinary differential equations play an important role in improving college students’ mathematical thinking ability and mathematical application ability.
