The article considers the influence of visitors’ flows on indoor air quality of museum premises and work of ventilation and air conditioning systems. The article provides the analysis of the heat input from visitors, the results of mathematical simulation of visitors flow influence on indoor air quality. Several advice options are provided on application of variable air volume systems for provision of constant indoor air quality.

In the differential equation of variable flow rate fluid flow a component which takes into account outer hydrodynamic pressure is introduced. The variables of the equation are expressed in terms of full operating head and in terms of independent distance along the axis of the stream, i. e. this equation is reduced to a singlevariable equation.

Heat and velocity parameters of the non-isothermal flow generated by a source panel-type double-chamber air diffuser with four horizontal shelf pressure equalizers of optimal relative length at the mid-horizontal level and in the vertical axisymmetrical plane. Irregularity ratios of initial velocities and temperatures of the air flow under study have also been defined.

Mechanical Model of Steel-concrete Composite Joint under Sagging Bending Moment

In buildings with steel-concrete composite floors, joints are designed to transmit mainly hogging bending moment. In case of the large horizontal loads due to wind, earthquake or accidental events, sagging bending moments in a joint can also occur. Additionally, large deformations of the structure cause tying and prying effects. In the paper, a mechanical model based on “component method” for evaluation of characteristics of the composite joint is presented. The influence of tying and prying actions on distribution of the internal forces in a joint is also analyzed. The procedure for calculation of the characteristics of the composite joint with bolted endplate connection is elaborated too.

Water Consumption in the City of Rzeszow

Abstract

The aim of the work is the analysis of water consumption in Rzeszow city. The quantity of produced water in Water Plants: Zwieczyca I and Zwieczyca II were performed for years 2007÷2009. The individual average twenty-four hour water consumption per one inhabitant was estimated. A stable decrease was observed in annual water consumption in years 2000÷2009. On the example of housing estate Nowe Miasto, the analysis of water consumption concerning the heights of the buildings was made. The biggest individual water consumption was marked in ten-storey house, and the smallest in single-family house. The next step regard the water consumption depending on the days in week. The biggest water consumption was in Thursdays, and the smallest in Sundays. Also the maximum and minimum twenty-four hour water consumption in the division into months in 2009 year were determined.

Article shows the desire to obtain risk-control options, and bringing it to a tolerable level. Subjects were ways of managing and dealing with risk. Methods of dealing with aspects of the protection of industrial buildings and high-risk critical infrastructure vulnerability analysis methodology to the loss of integrity. Also a set method to deal with aspects of the protection of industrial buildings and high-risk critical infrastructure that is the analysis of susceptibility to loss of integrity. The article also presents the basic principles of water safety plan based on national and foreign research publications. In the next part of article WSP methodology was concluded, outlining the actions which use significantly reduces the risk of threats that could lead to supply of contaminated tap water or total interruption of its supply. In further considerations the most important steps in creating WSP were presented. In the final section the principle of modular computer system operation that is used for network management for urban water supply in Rzeszow was presented.

Energetic and Ecological Analysis of Energy Saving and Passive Houses

In this paper results of influence of building-installation system parameters on value of energetic coefficients were calculated. Three types of buildings (standard, energy saving and low energy) with heating surface of 100, 150 i 200 m2 were used. The above types of buildings differ on thermal barrier and heating system efficiency. The influence of the gravity and mechanical ventilation systems on the final heat energy of different kinds of houses was shown. Parameters of the certificate for energy characteristics of building were used. Mathematics models of influence of thermal barrier parameters and heating surface on the value of energy characteristics, namely final energy EF, primary energy EP and useful energy EU were established. Influence of such parameters as heating energy factors, ventilation system and energy sources on the energy efficiency improvement of buildings was analyzed. The building environmental assessment system was proposed on the base of energetic and ecological analysis of houses.

Strengthening Bridges with Prestressed CFRP Strips

Abstract

Limitation of bridge’s carrying bearing capacity due to aging and deterioration is a common problem faced by road administration and drivers. Rehabilitation of bridges including strengthening may be applied in order to maintain or upgrade existing bridge parameters. The case studies of strengthening of two small bridges with high modulus prestressed CFRP strips have been presented in the paper. The first one - reinforced concrete slab bridge - and the other - composite steel-concrete girder bridge - have been successfully upgraded with quite new technology. In both cases the additional CFRP reinforcement let increasing of bridge carrying capacity from 15 till 40 metric tons. The CFRP strip prestressing system named Neoxe Prestressing System (NPS), developed by multi-disciplinary team and tested at full scale in Rzeszow University of Technology, has been also described in the paper.

Tamping Mortars with Stabilizing and Plasticizing Admixtures

Boreholes cementing operations at the depth of several kilometers requires the best technology as well as the best materials. To produce the materials satisfying all the requirements concerning the tamping works is possible using the technology of dry building mixes (DBM) prepared at the factories by thorough mixing of accurately dosed components. Using of chemical admixtures allows improving some properties of these mixes. In this work the influence of mineral fillers and chemical admixtures on the properties of the fresh mixture and hardened tamping mortar was investigated. It is established that introduction of the admixture with complex action on the basis of stabilizer Walocel 15-01 and plasticizer Melflux 2651 allows obtaining the fresh mixture with high spreadability. At the same time the value of dehydration approaches to zero which favorably effects on stabilization of fresh mixture and not allows the sedimentation processes to take place. By the X-ray analysis, the positive influence of modification admixtures on the hydration processes in the tamping mortars by activating them was identified. In the result of this, the formation of hydrate phases is accelerated; these phases tightly mud the pore area of tamping stone increasing by this its strength.

In this article results of experimental investigations of air supply into the room by air distribution device which creates swirl air jets for creation more intensive turbulization air flow in the room are presented. Experimental investigations in order to composed matrix were carried out; graphycal dependences have been obtained as well three-factor chart has been designed. Obtained results of these investigations give possibility to realize engineer calculations of air distribution with swirl air jets.
