Interprofessional academic education of health care professionals is crucial for successful cooperation, although <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="j_ijhp-2016-0008_ref_021_w2aab3b7c22b1b6b1ab2ac21Aa">Terizakis &amp; Gehring (2014</xref>, p. 24) state «a genuine understanding of interprofessional teaching […] hasn't developed yet.» The undefined usage of terminology and coexisting interprofessional study programs are only one part of the problem. Further consented interprofessional learning concepts and systematic knowledge regarding competencies and teaching experiences are lacking. The <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="j_ijhp-2016-0008_ref_024_w2aab3b7c22b1b6b1ab2ac24Aa">WHO (2010</xref>, pp. 27 f) recommends lecturers to generate a common understanding of interprofessionality. At Hamburg University of Applied Sciences a part-time study program in interprofessional health care and management started in September 2015. It was designed as a continuing education program for occupational-, physio-, and speech therapists, nurses and midwives. As a preparation for the program focus group discussions with staff members of the department „Pfege &amp; Management» were conducted. The aim was to investigate their understanding of interprofessionality, learning and teaching. The results indicated a contextual understanding of interprofessionality, although the usage of the terminology remains blurred. The tension of a congruent interprofessional learning concept is to enhance scientific reflection of disciplines, as well as strengthening interprofessional aspects. Regarding the change in demands of the health care system, interprofessional collaboration is seen as a major resource. The research gap on disciplinary orientations in terms of enhancing professional identity on the one and interprofessionality as innovative construct on the other hand has to be filled.</p></abstract>

<trans-abstract xml:lang="de" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>Studien belegen positive Effekte einer berufsgruppenübergreifenden Zusammenarbeit auf eine qualitativ hochwertige Gesundheitsversorgung. Dabei werden interdisziplinäre hochschulische Primärausbildungen und Weiterbildungen von Gesundheitsberufen als Basis für erfolgreiche kooperative Zusammenarbeit gesehen. Jedoch konstatieren <xref ref-type="bibr" rid="j_ijhp-2016-0008_ref_021_w2aab3b7c22b1b6b1ab2ac21Aa">Terizakis und Gehring (2014</xref>, S. 24), dass sich „ein genuines Interdisziplinaritätsverständnis für die Lehre (…) noch gar nicht herauskristallisiert“ hat. Die unklare Begriffsbestimmung zu Interdisziplinarität sowie die Koexistenz von unterschiedlichen interdisziplinären Studienformaten sind einige Gründe dafür. Es herrscht ein Mangel an konsentierten interdisziplinären Lehrkonzepten. Daher fehlt systematisches Wissen zu notwendigen Kompetenzen und Erfahrungsschätzen von interdisziplinär Lehrenden. Die WHO empfiehlt interdisziplinär Lehrenden ein gemeinsames Verständnis von Interdisziplinarität zu entwickeln (ebd., 2010, S. 27ff.). In Vorbereitung auf den neuen berufsbegleitenden Bachelorstudiengang „Interdisziplinäre Gesundheitsversorgung und Management“ (Start WS 2015/16) für Angehörige der Ergo- und Physiotherapie, Pflege, Hebammenkunde und Logopädie an der HAW Hamburg wurde das Verständnis von Interdisziplinarität von Lehrenden mittels Fokusgruppen untersucht. Im Januar 2015 diskutierten moderatorengestützt 8 Professor/-innen und 9 wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter/-innen in drei getrennten, statusgruppengemischten Fokusgruppen über Interdisziplinarität, interdisziplinäres Lehren und Zusammenarbeit. Die Fokusgruppen mit Dauer von 1,5h wurden aufgezeichnet, transkribiert und analysiert. Es zeigt sich, dass alle Teilnehmenden über ein kontextuales Verständnis von Interdisziplinarität verfügen, wobei der Terminus unscharf genutzt wird. Ein Spannungsfeld eines kongruenten interdisziplinären Lehrkonzeptes ist die wissenschaftliche Reflexion der fünf Berufsgruppen innerhalb ihrer Herkunftsdisziplin und die Stärkung von Interdisziplinaritäten. Das Gesundheitssystem befindet sich im Wandel und interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit der Gesundheitsberufe wird als Lösung gesehen. Jedoch herrscht Forschungsbedarf in der akademischen Wissensvermittlung zum Umgang von eindeutiger Disziplinorientierung zur Herausbildung der beruflichen Kernidentität und Interdisziplinarität als innovatives Denkkonstrukt.</p></trans-abstract>
