The article deals with the issue of translation in relation to the concept of culture and with the role played by language as a mediation tool for values that pass from one reality to another, bearing witness to the complexity and diversity of the vision of the world proposed by cultures and different languages. The theoretical evolution known to the translation field especially during the twentieth century has made it possible to broaden its a priori boundaries of a linguistic nature, up to the establishment of an approach in which translation has increasingly dialogued with cultural dimensions traditionally placed outside its field of action, also taking into account realities and circumstances closely connected with current events and with socio-cultural evolution.
