Article Processing Charge (APC)

The journal does not have article processing chargers (APCs) nor article submission charges.

Description of the peer review process:

1. Pre-review qualification of the submitted text in terms of thematic relevance and substantive quality - the decision to accept or reject the text is made by the editor-in-chief/deputy editor-in-chief, the assistant editor, and possibly 1-2 section editors involved in the research area discussed in the article.

2. Checking the pre-qualified text for formal compliance with the guidelines of the journal by the assistant editor.

3. If the formal and linguistic qualification is positive, the text is forwarded to the section editor.

  • If the text is in English, it is forwarded to a language editor, who checks it for linguistic quality before passing it to the section editor.
  • If the text contains extensive statistical analysis and/or is methodological/quantitative in nature, it goes to a statistical editor before being forwarded to the section editor.

4. The section editor submits the anonymized article to two reviewers. Each article is reviewed by two independent reviewers outside the article Author's affiliated unit, who are experts in the field, under the double-blind review process. The reviewers have one month to prepare their reviews.

5. After receiving two reviews, the section editor: (a) forwards them (in anonymized form) to the Author (in case of two positive reviews), (b) identifies a third reviewer (in case the reviews diverge), (c) rejects the text (in case both reviews are negative or one review is negative and the other suggests a major revision).

6. After receiving a review of the text, the Author has three weeks to improve it and resubmit the new version (through the system). The section editor checks the quality of the text's improvement in light of the review, possibly resolving substantive and formal doubts. At this point, they may return the text if they consider it has not been adequately corrected.

7. The text positively qualified by the section editor is forwarded to the assistant editor.

8. The assistant editor passes the text for reading to the editor in charge of the entire issue, who at this stage has the right to suspend proceeding the article and send it back to the Author (usually with a suggestion to supplement the issues identified by the reviewers).

9. The text positively qualified by the editor in charge of the issue is forwarded to the assistant editor with information about acceptance and the readiness to send the article for production. At this stage, the Author receives notification that the text has been accepted for publication.

10. The assistant editor passes the information about the accepted article to the editor-in-chief or deputy editor-in-chief, who gives the final approval and sends the text for production.

The editors reserve the right to evaluate submitted texts internally.
