<abstract xml:lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>The article assesses the applicability of new refrigerants, being possible substitution for Freon 22, in marine refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. A collection of technical data on the physical properties of the new refrigerants is presented. Suggestions are made about certain energetic and ecological profits which can be gained when using energetically efficient refrigerants with low GWP values. The results of the TEWI comparison analysis for selected refrigerants are also included.</p></abstract>
