<abstract xml:lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>Octomacrum europaeum (Monogenea: Octomacridae) was collected, for the first time in north-eastern Europe, from the gills of spirlin (Alburnoides bipunctatus). Morphometric characters were compared with those of other populations and conform to the original description of the species.</p></abstract>
