The Romanian Journal of Cardiology on the path to becoming an international journal

Zacytuj

“The two most important days in life are the day you are born and the day you find out the reason why.”

—Mark Twain

The goal of the Romanian Journal of Cardiology (Revista Română de Cardiologie) at its inception was to help the clinical practice of Romanian cardiologists and internal medicine specialists.

Later, original research became more important and the peer review was rigorously applied with all the other quality research rules. Nonetheless, our journal has opened timidly for contributors from abroad.

Starting a decade ago, the commitment to becoming an international cardiology journal resulted in robust, specific actions, i.e., publishing in English, inviting outstanding international researchers to join remarkable Romanian cardiologists as members of the editorial board, and indexing our articles in international databases.

The Romanian Journal of Cardiology has now officially transitioned to an international publisher and has a new site and a modern online editorial system. These changes were made to facilitate the submission and the peer review of the papers. Paraphrasing what Neil Armstrong said upon walking on the Moon, we hope that this step will be a giant leap for the international opening of our journal.

Irrespective of how modern and efficient the editorial process is, the journal activity relies on the hard work of the members of the editorial staff and the editorial board, whom I want to thank once more.

I conclude this editorial by inviting researchers from Romania and from abroad to continue to support the Romanian Journal of Cardiology by submitting their research for publication and playing an active role in the review process.
