In 2025, two significant anniversaries are being commemorated: the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Hungarian-language State University of Cluj—predecessor of the George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Târgu Mureș—and the 120th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Miklós Guzner, a distinguished dentist and university professor. Despite his notable contributions, Guzner’s career has yet to be thoroughly documented. This study aims to present the available information on his life and professional work, while also analyzing previously overlooked data. To achieve this, the authors conducted an extensive, unrestricted systematic literature search using the Arcanum and Hungaricana databases. The search targeted publications—primarily contemporary press articles—that mention Miklós Guzner by name. A total of 140 potentially relevant sources were identified, of which 108 met the inclusion criteria. Drawing on these findings, the study traces Guzner’s early life and professional development in Cluj, characterized by active engagement in scientific, professional, and civic life. The article further provides a detailed examination of his academic career in Târgu Mureș, highlighting its significance within the broader context of institutional history.
