<p>Environmental risk can result from the interaction between human activity and the environment. Human activities can generate certain changes in the environmental components, thus inducing a potential danger for the health of people, flora, vegetation and fauna through the negative effects they have on water resources, air and soil quality, climate, microclimate, and so on. This paper presents the potable water treatment plant from Zănoaga, located in Petroșani Municipality, and highlights the potential risks related to the activity within this plant. Particular emphasis is placed on the risk to the environment and human health that may arise from improper storage and handling of liquid chlorine tanks, chlorine being a toxic gas if found in high concentrations in air, water or soil.</p>
