<abstract xml:lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p> The study presents a newly developed methodology of polarization curves scanning in a thin layer of electrolyte. The use of scanned curves as the input data for simulation of galvanic corrosion is shown in a programme that works with the assumption of a thin layer of electrolyte. The theoretical part briefly describes the physical model of the programme. It presents scanned electrochemical corrosion properties of selected basic technical materials in two types of electrolyte and introduces the outputs of simulation of a simple construction joint corrosion. The practical use of the programme and essential improvements of the methodology of scanning in thin layers of electrolyte are discussed.</p></abstract>
