<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

<p>The scale insect <italic>Lineaspis striata</italic> (Newstead) (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Diaspididae) was recorded for the first time infesting a species of the family Pinaceae. Heavily infested ornamental shrubs of <italic>Picea glauca</italic> “Conica” by pre-ovipostiting and oviposting female adults of <italic>L. striata</italic>, were found in March 2018 and by a minor population consisting of pre-ovipositing female adults in February 2021, in Attica, Greece. The scale was settled on the base of the needles of the host plant.</p>
