<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p> The implementation process of the European Landscape Convention (ELC) still does not receive sufficient academic attention. Its reflection in Slovak Republic municipal strategic documents has especially been neglected. This article presents a simple but appropriate method of rectifying this inadequacy. An analysis of ELC key words occurrence resulting from screening three urban and three rural municipal strategic documents from a region with important cultural-landscape features is presented. A comparison of the results with actual landscape changes is also introduced.</p></abstract>
