Stroke is the third most common cause of disability among adults. However in year 2006 only 14% of neurological departments and 10% of rehabilitation departments included early comprehensive post--stroke rehabilitation in the treatment of this disease. The aim of the following work is to describe accessible rehabilitation and preventive activities that can be used and recommended to hospitalized patients by doctors without specialized training. In the article, the author justified the introduction of simplified neuropsychological rehabilitation in the short period after a stroke and presented the recommended procedure for the initial orientation of neuropsychological rehabilitation. A set of six exemplary methods of conducting it has been described in terms of simplified cognitive functions and exercise procedures.
