The uprighting of tipped molars and the intrusion of over-erupted individual teeth by the orthodontist prior to bridge construction can be of considerable assistance to the dental practitioner. Often uprighting and intrusion are necessary in the same mouth and these two movements are discussed and illustrated by some case histories. The uprighting mechanism is identical to that of some other authors and the fixed intrusion appliance is an adaptation of the uprighting mechanism. However the removable intrusion appliance is a fresh approach to the problem of over-erupted teeth.
