Research on the Mechanism of Integration of Political Thinking Elements and Cultivation of Students’ Innovative Ability in Civil Engineering Education in Colleges and Universities in the Digital Era

This paper puts forward the path of cultivating students’ innovative ability with subject synergy, environment synergy and role integration by incorporating the elements of Civic and Political thinking into the three paths of civil engineering course objective construction, case teaching and course assessment. Based on the teaching practice of civil engineering, 5 public factors and 20 observation indexes were obtained to evaluate students’ innovation ability based on civil engineering teaching. Then, based on the factor analysis model, the weights and mean scores of the public factors and observation indexes were compared to analyze the effect of civil engineering teaching on different public factors and observation indexes. The study found that the innovation quality factor has the lowest score of 4.736. The remaining four factors have scores higher than 5.00, suggesting that civil engineering teaching needs to be strengthened in terms of cultivating students’ innovation quality. Curriculum Civics integrated into the civil engineering education in colleges and universities on students’ ideological and moral qualities of all dimensions have been improved, but in the development of students’ innovative development of thinking, discursive consciousness, sense of social responsibility need to continue to optimize the design of teaching and learning, and to further give play to the value of the “Civil Engineering” course of human education. This paper better accomplishes the fundamental task of cultivating students’ innovative ability in colleges and universities and achieving the fundamental task of establishing moral education.
