LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics is an international, scholarly, peer-reviewed and open access journal published by the Department of Transport and Logistics, Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice, Czech Republic in cooperation with several faculties and universities in the Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Croatia, Poland, Germany, Austria, Russia and Hungary. It provides an advanced forum for studies related to basic and applied research in the field of transport, logistics and other associated sectors. It was established in 2010, and since then, it is published continuously within Open-volume system.
History
Even though the history of the LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics dates back to 2010, fundamentals of an idea of such a journal ensued from the international conference with similar title which started in 1997, and since then, it is regularly organized on the ground of the Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice (annually or every other year), Jan Perner Transport Faculty (University of Pardubice) or College of Logistics, Pøerov.
The need to publish a special scientific journal resulted from tasks of participants in a conference and progressively resulted into present form of the journal. The reason of establishing the LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics also lay in an absence of special periodical focused on science and research related to various topics of technology, engineering, management, as well as the very theory of transport and logistics.
Previous volumes and issues of the LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics can be accessed here: journals.vstecb.cz/publications/logi/.
Transport and logistics represent significant part of the overall costs of companies and are integral part of the world economy. By streamlining transport-logistics processes in each transport mode and logistics operation, it is possible to determine production capacities of enterprises as well as desirable satisfaction of customer's requirements more efficiently.
The demand for freight transport every year increases significantly. Currently, to solve this issue, there are two main challenges, i.e. transport-logistics organization and transport-logistics technology. The first one is an initial step to make feasibility, i.e. actual cornerstone for new challenges. The second aspect refers individual techniques and procedures of how to streamline transport-logistics processes. To successfully optimize and subsequently carry out these processes, it is necessary to define individual operations needed to ensure the entire process. Operations may be diversified into specific levels, and thus helping towards better orientation in such processes. After all, the current crucial issue is to address the sustainability of technological developments in assuring the quality of life for future generations.
Potential topics and fields of the LOGI – Scientific Journal on Transport and Logistics encompass but are not limited to as follows:
- fundamentals of the transport systems (road, railway, inland waterways, maritime, air as well as intermodal transport) and logistics operation;
- economics and management in transport and logistics;
- quality of transport and logistics services;
- application of optimization methods to transport-logistics processes;
- implementation of advanced handling technologies, information systems and smart technologies in transport-logistics processes;
- measures in tariff and transport policy;
- construction, operation, diagnostics and maintenance of vehicles;
- traffic safety and measures in terms of reducing risks in transport and logistics processes;
- transport infrastructure and constructions;
- public transport planning and scheduling;
- sustainable solutions in international freight forwarding;
- development trends in the management of international shipment flows;
- implementation of advanced intermodal transport management and fleets management;
- environmental research in transport processes (energy intensity, energy and fuel consumption, alternative and conventional energy sources, GHG and emissions production, air pollution, and so forth);
- engineering mechanics, electrical engineering in transport and logistics, and electromobility.

Open Access License
This journal provides immediate open access to its content under the Creative Commons BY-NC-ND 3.0 license. Authors who publish with this journal retain all copyrights and agree to the terms of the above-mentioned CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 license.
All the manuscripts submitted are peer-reviewed on the assumption that all listed authors concur in the submission and are responsible for its content. Manuscripts are to be conceptually divided into: Introduction, Data and Methods, Principal Findings/Results, Discussion, and Conclusion. The manuscript extent should not exceed 12 pages. Manuscript is to be submitted to an email address: logi.vste@gmail.com.
Please compile the abstract section as a single paragraph of about 200 words maximum (minimum of 120). The abstract should give a summary of the manuscript content and should represent a pertinent overview of the work. Mention the main findings without going into methodological detail and summarize briefly the most important items of the manuscript. We encourage authors to use the structured abstract styles as follows (without headings): (1) Background: Indicate the issue addressed in a broad context (the study purpose); (2) Methods: Describe briefly the main methods (techniques) applied; (3) Results: Outline the main findings of the manuscript; and (4) Conclusion: Summarize the main conclusions or interpretations. Because the abstract will be published separately by abstracting services, it must be complete and understandable without reference to the text.
References should be listed and numbered in the order that they appear in the text. In the text, citations should be indicated by the reference number in brackets [1]. Multiple citations within a single set of brackets should be separated by commas [1,2]. Where there are more than three sequential citations, they should be given as a range [1-4]. Please, within the text of the manuscript, include references even to tables and figures, and avoid specialist abbreviations and symbols.
All the details regarding the required structure of manuscripts to be submitted are indicated in the template file "Instructions for Authors".
