All works are reviewed by specialists from outside the authors' mother organisation, adhering to the principle of mutual anonymity, the so-called double-blind-review process.
The submitted article undergoes a formal assessment process and post initial assessment it is submitted for conceptual assessment (REVIEW FORM ERS_SEiR.pdf) which takes up to 6 weeks (2 weeks on average). During the selection of a reviewer there cannot be the conflict of interests which is understood as relations occurring between the reviewer and the author:
The author may indicate the name of potential reviewer, however, the Editorial Office reserves the right to make a decision regarding such selection.
The review has a written form (review form) and ends with a clear conclusion:
Correction or proofreading the text in Polish should be performed immediately and no longer than within 1 week. Subsequently the editorial office decides about further fate of the given work. The work may be directed for translation or rejection.
The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to reject a paper which is not consistent with the journal profile; does not meet the requirements imposed on scientific papers; has received negative scientific reviews; does not follow the instructions on submitting and preparing articles; has not been corrected in accordance with the directions of the Editor or the reviewers; bears attributes of plagiarism. The final decision on accepting a paper for publication or rejecting it is always taken by the Editor-in-Chief.
Decision of the Editorial Office is final. The Editorial Office does not return the manuscripts.
Names of reviewers of individual publications/issues are not disclosed; once a year the journal publically announces the list of cooperating reviewers

Policies for research on human
When reporting experiments on human subjects, authors should indicate whether the procedures followed were in accordance with the Helsinki Declaration of 1975, as revised in 2000 (concerning the ethical principles for the medical community and forbidding releasing the name of the patient, initials or the hospital evidence number) and with the ethical standards of the responsible committee on human experimentation (institutional and national). The authors presenting case studies are obligated not to disclose personal data. The manuscript should contain a statement that the work has been approved by the relevant institutional or committees and that all human participants gave informed consent. If the work involves chemicals, procedures or equipment that have any unusual hazards inherent in their use, the authors must clearly identify these in the manuscript.
Policies for research on vulnerable populations
Vulnerable populations, for example children, older persons or adults with learning disabilities, require special protection during research. Researchers need to consider additional ethics concerns or issues arising from working with potentially vulnerable persons. In cases where research involves potentially vulnerable groups, every effort should be made to secure freely given informed consent that participants or their legal representatives have actively provided.
