The ability to learn how to learn is essential for academic performance. The objective of this study was to identify the differences between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate students depending to the dimensions of learning to learn competence. The results showed that there are statistically significant differences between the students from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of studies according to the dimensions of the competence to learn how to learn. Our results can be used by teachers. They can adapt the information so that the students develop this competence.
