<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Addressing poverty issues in the developing world, and hunger issues in particular, is top of the global list of collective actions. However, in spite of the right-to-food commitments taken by global leaders and the international community, the problems are persisting. This article analyses the concept of “right-to-food” from legal and political points of view and looks at the shortcomings for its implementation. A governance analysis is provided together with recommendations for improvement. The experience of the European Union of economic coordination is utilised for improving intergovernmental cooperation for food security. The Food Security Implementation Procedure is considered as a soft method based on a voluntary participation with an objective to strengthen international coordination, national ownership and effective involvement of the non-public sector.</abstract>

Right-to-Food: Strengthening the Legal and Political Concepts Through Soft Governance

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The paper has analysed and evaluated the existing concepts of relations between science and education, advisory services and agricultural practice in the aspect of strengthening competitiveness of the agricultural sector of the EU and also has identified the most important elements of agricultural knowledge system (AKS) in Poland and the assessment of their relationship. The source material was literature review on the subject, statistical data and quality assessment of the relationship between stakeholders achieved as a result of a two-day panel discussion. The results indicate that the traditional concepts of linear links between science and agricultural practice are replaced with innovative concepts of networking. In Poland, there is not yet a well-functioning system of agricultural knowledge. Despite the existence of all the links in the classical system of knowledge existing links between them are highly varied. Very strong links exist only between agricultural advisors and farmers, strong between advisory, and research &amp; education, between advisory and agricultural policy, and between farmers and companies selling agricultural inputs and purchasing agricultural products. Other links have been identified as weak.</abstract>

Changes in Agricultural Knowledge and Information Systems: Case Study of Poland

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">This article starts with a broader view on the Hungarian agricultural holding system in order to find improvement possibilities in this segment. It is established on the supposition that a vertically created chain that could bring joint effort to create a group or network among the various actors in agribusiness which can lead to a more profitable operation, it can enhance sustainability and create technological development. The article also represents the energy farm concept where the different agricultural actors can work together in a sustainable system which can generate welfare to their production site and also to their settlement.</abstract>

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The protection of urban soils and soils located near arterial highways from heavy metal contamination is an environmental issue which has not been resolved in megalopoleis. Purposeful scientific experimental data obtained on the basis of field and laboratory studies is required in order to solve these problems, which has determined the choice of the research objective: to assess the degree of degradation changes in anthropogenically transformed soils in Moscow and Orel regions in terms of total content of heavy metals and their degree of mobility.</abstract>

The Environmental Assessment of the Intensity of Heavy Metal Accumulation in Anthropogenically Transformed Soils

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">In the time of accession to the EU, Hungary drops to the second part of the programming period 2000-2006. The Central-Hungarian region (which includes the capital and Pest County) was classified as a less developed region, similarly to all of the six ‚rural‘ regions and thus the area received the highest amount of the supporting sources. In the programming period 2007–2013, the Central-Hungarian region belonged to the transitional regions and so it received continuously decreasing subsidies. In the case of Budapest, the value of GDP per capita refers to the development, but based on the measurement, Pest County was supposed to belong to the transitional areas. Between the years 2014–2020, the whole area of the Central-Hungarian region was getting to the level of a developed region. It means that this area is not entitled to get Cohesion sources anymore. On the 30th of October 2015, Pest County Assembly made a decision about Pest County’s disruption and declared its intent to create a separated region. As long as the government stood for the idea and it met with a warm response in Brussels, Pest County could operate as an independent region from 2018. Our study will draw attention to the huge territorial differences between the capital and its agglomeration and the surrounding areas.</abstract>

The Formation and the Future Potentials of the Eighth Hungarian Region

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The aim of this document is to present a synthesis of water sustainability issues as the basic role in the sustainable growth strategies in many countries. Water crisis and extreme weather conditions have been identified by the World Economic Forum community as two of the top ten global risks. This is hardly surprising, considering the devastating impacts of having too little water, or too much. While water’s immediate impacts are often local, water security is now recognized as the systemic global risk. Each development has its own limiting parameters. In the latest decades, we have recognized the term ‚blue and green water‘. Blue water availability is a limiting factor for the green water. Due to the changes and processes in the country, as climatic, economic or socio-economic ones, fundamental factor for sustainable development is to secure water supply. Soil water and its availability for crop production during the growing season appear to be a problem. Surface water resources created for the additional irrigation in the pastures are now used for other purposes such as energy or industry. It is therefore important for water sustainability in the countries to increase the water resources protection.</abstract>

Water Management for Sustainable Growth Strategies

<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">In recent years, the exposure of a series of environmental pollution incidents has made people focus on the corporate social responsibility (CSR). Social responsibility information disclosure system is, perfect or not, directly related to the success or failure of environmental protection. Application of environmental social responsibility can be more effective to do this work. The purpose of this paper is to construct an evaluation framework to help judge the quality of social responsibility information disclosure (SRID). Taking Chinese agricultural enterprises as a sample, this paper finishes two studies on the SRID evaluation framework social of agricultural enterprises. Firstly, through literature review and oral theme encoding, this paper establishes the SRID evaluation framework of agricultural enterprises for the first time at home and abroad. Secondly, the framework we established is verified through the expert opinion method, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The SRID evaluation framework of agricultural enterprises we build includes fore elements and 12 indicators. The fore elements are content quality, total quality, presentation quality, utility quality, and the 12 indicators are objectivity, correctness, credibility, relevance, completeness, sufficiency, definition, intelligibility, conciseness, timeliness, adaptability, testability. The evaluation framework of our research gives a standard to evaluate the SRID, and can help to understand the quality of SRID of agricultural enterprises, and then evaluate how the agricultural enterprises fulfill their environmental and social responsibility. And through the evaluation of SRID by our framework, we can find the strength and weakness of the SRID and give advice to improve the quality of SRID.</abstract>

The international scientific journal “Visegrad Journal on Bioeconomy and Sustainable Development” was published as a part of the IVF Strategic Project “Sustainability in Agrisector of V4 Countries and Cooperating Regions” by the Faculty of Economics and Management.
