Engineering Risk of Series Production in Automotive Industry

Resumen

Abstract

The global objective of this paper is to analyze engineering risk of series production in Automotive Industries based on problems caused by supplied chain of products when a strong process to avoid engineering risk problems is missing. Automotive Industries Companies in Romania use just some theoretical tools like as D-FMEA (Design – Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) for engineering risk in their design products in ADAS domein. The main causes appear after the production starts and sometimes it brings the production to a halt. The risks reveal details of different levels and high risk can be caused by unforeseen challenges during of series production. On this paper, the method for engineering risk of management used is based on project management guide by Paul Roberts adapted to causes identification and risk plan.

Cost Estimation Methods of Machine Elements at the Design Stage in Unit and Small Lot Production Conditions

Resumen

Abstract

On the stage of product design there is a problem concerning production cost estimation in the moment when elements are not yet definitely designed. Depending on the amount of the available information, more or less precise cost estimation methods are applied, i.e.: variant methods, generation methods, hybrid methods. The proposed method of cost estimation is based on a formalized description of information related to construction, manufacturing and organizational characteristics concerning the designed element, the automation method of technological processes design using methods of group technology and a model of determining production costs of machine elements based on Activity Based Costing.

Quality Study and Improvement of Logistic Processes on the Example of a Chosen Enterprise

Resumen

Abstract

This article presents the issues of quality research and improvement of logistics processes in the area of distribution of one of selected industrial enterprises. The case described concerns the producer of raw chemical materials, who acts as a supplier for industrial customers. The studied company, due to dynamic changes in product demand, very often outsources the distribution of raw materials to external transport companies. This solution results in limited supervision over commissioned processes, which may lead to increased probability of customer dissatisfaction. The article presents the results of the study of the quality of logistic processes implemented or commissioned in the examined enterprise. The assessment was based on the results of the customer satisfaction survey and the results of the analysis of received complaints regarding deliveries. Analysis of the causes of complaints allowed to identify the actions necessary to improve the quality of logistics processes. This article contains, among others, the criteria for the assessment of transport service providers and a set of recommendations to reduce the risks associated with logistics processes of deliveries.

Application of Digitization Procedures of Production in Practice

Resumen

Abstract

The paper addresses application of digitazation of production processes, which is part of organizational digitization, also known as Industry 4.0. It deals with modernization and optimization of production systems by creating models in simulation software via digital engineering. For our analysis, 8 real assembly lines were used, with an average of 15 workplaces, which were integrated into one universal line by means of simulation. The aim of our research was to create a digital twin of the real assambly lien and to analyse effectiveness of the proposed modernization universal assembly line using the generated statistical data.

The Design Technique of Melting Units for Production of Synthetic Fibrous Materials by Vertical Blowing Method

Resumen

Abstract

This paper presents the technology of production of synthetic fibrous materials from PET-row by vertical blowing method. The formation of fibers from the melt of thermoplastics by vertical blowing method is accompanied by complex and specific phenomena, so creation of new progressive technologies, high-performance machines and units for producing such materials is impossible without process modeling, which can significantly reduce the number of natural tests, cost and development time and choose optimal operating modes. The motion of the molten material in the melting unit of the hydrostatic type is determined from the Poiseuille formula. Also in the article proved that the greatest impact on process productivity is made by the melting unit, exactly by outlet radius and the pressure change of compressed air, acting on the molten material surface. The increase in the height of the molten material column in the main cylindrical chamber of melting unit also leads to increase of process productivity.

Logistics Maturity Model for Engineering Management – Method Proposal

Resumen

Abstract

The objective of the paper is to present results of research carried out on the development of a logistics maturity model for enterprises. The proposed approach allows for companies to self-assess their level of advancement of logistics processes implementation with the use of logistics maturity model. Considering the results of the assessment, directions for further actions may be determined. The proposed model comprises three dimensions: SCOR model, phases of the industry logistics and logistics tools, what makes it original approach in the field of logistics maturity research. Moreover, the model described in the paper is dedicated for service industry, which is in research niche. The current state of research on maturity models is reviewed to serve as a basis for the model developed in the paper. There are inlcuded theoretical assumptions of the proposed logistics maturity model and presentation of the model’s concept, considering directions for future research on the specified issue.

Abstract

Reliability of production systems in enterprises is increasingly dependent on the availability of ICT systems that supervise them. The research presented in this paper focuses on the improvement of the availability of ICT systems by identifying possibilities of further automation of their maintenance processes. After preliminary research, it has been concluded that the possibility of further automation by using artificial intelligence methods to support decision making regarding the improvement of ICT systems is worth considering. The main aim of the paper was to carry out research into the possibilities of using and implementing artificial intelligence to support decision making regarding the improvement of ICT systems.

Resumen

Abstract

The article summarizes the experience of laboratory technical subjects teaching methodologies using a number of software products. The main aim is to modernize the teaching process in accordance with the requirements of today – based on information technology. Increasing of the study attractiveness and effectiveness is due to the introduction of Computer Aided (CA) technologies in the learning process. This paper discussed the areas where individual CA system used and concrete examples used in the education process. They are CAD system Catia V5, FluidSIM created and simulates the pneumatics and electropneumatic schemes and circles, software witness used for simulation of material flow planning and RobotStudio that illustrates operated Robot in his own manipulated area. Environment using CA systems are briefly presented in each chapter.

Energy Characteristics of Asynchronous Electric Drive

Resumen

Abstract

Energy aspects are fundamental to the design of electric drive systems. This article describes energy performance for asynchronous electric drives based on various control methods. These electric drives comparison shows that vector control methods have a significant advantage over scalar control methods. The asynchronous electric drive mathematical description is based on vector control theory and main component method. Equations, obtained by mathematical description, allow calculating of the currents, voltages and electric power at the output when the electromagnetic torque and speed machine are set. Energy characteristics of the asynchronous drive were obtained with the use of the MATLAB-SIMULINK simulation program.

The Use of Low-Budget Self-Assembly Sets for Research and Robotics Education

Resumen

Abstract

The article presents the possibilities of using easily accessible and inexpensive educational sets in scientific research and the process of robotics education. Such kits allow the exploration of theoretical and practical knowledge taking into account aspects of engineering, such as: mechanics, drive systems, sensor systems, control and programming of robots. Models of robots built from inexpensive components can also be used to test new solutions in the field of construction or control algorithms before they are used in real applications. As an example, the model of the palletizing manipulator for self-assembly was shown, the control of which was based on the Arduino Uno controller, while the drives were implemented using low-cost hobby-grade servos. For the kinematic structure of this manipulator, the forward and inverse kinematics task for the position has been discussed. This constituted the basis for the development of a manual control algorithm implemented in the controller – using a joystick and programmed – based on the data sent to the controller using serial communication from a PC. The article presents the results of the computer simulation of the manipulator kinematics, the hardware and software implementation of the robot model and the effects of its operation. The possibility of expanding the control system with additional elements to increase its functionality was indicated.
