Then, the transient BCV interacts with lysosomes, T4SS is activated and it regulates intracellular trafficking from autophagosome to endoplasmatic reticulum (BCV acquires LAMP1 and Sec61β markers – late BCV – occurs only in epithelial cells). BCV acquires the endoplasmic reticulum markers (calnexin, calreticulin and Sec61-β) and the Brucella replicates. Rough Brucella organisms do not penetrate cell by lipid rafts, and therefore is exterminated.
