Urban names are an important subject of interest in onomastics. One of the most important groups, including Due to the relationship between the creator and the recipient, they are the names of transport stops. Most often, they are toponymically motivated, but a large group also includes names derived from common names or created using a common name. The article discusses the role of common names used in the names of Lublin transport stops. The subject of the analysis were both contemporary and historical urban names, which allowed the author to indicate objects and groups of urban objects important for the community in various periods of public transport operation. It was also established that appellative motivation plays a special role in the process of creating stop names, although the phenomenon of commercialization also plays a significant role in their creation.
