<abstract xml:lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>3-Amino-5-(4-chlorophenylamino)-4-cyanofuran-2-carboxamide (<bold>2</bold>) was used as the key molecule for preparation of various furopyrimidines <bold>3-9</bold> and formation of spiro-cycloalkane furopyrimidines <bold>10, 11</bold>. Also, poly fused heterocyclic compounds <bold>13-17</bold> were prepared from compound <bold>2</bold>. The synthesized compounds were screened for their antimicrobial activity.</p></abstract>
