Expert Estimates of the Potential of AR, VR, BIM and AI Technologies to Support Sustainable Construction 4.0 in Slovak Construction Sector

This paper presents the findings of theoretical and empirical research in the area of sustainable Construction 4.0. In the theoretical part of the article, the findings of the potential of BIM technology to support the development of sustainable Construction 4.0 which are based on a literature review study of the works published in the examined area are presented. In the empirical part of the work, the article discusses findings related to the potential of BIM technology in the specific dimensions of sustainable Construction 4.0 based on expert assessments of a sample of 94 experts in construction sector in Slovakia. The potential of BIM technology was identified for social, economic and environmental dimensions of the development of the development of sustainable Construction 4.0. The significance of the differences among the expert estimates for the different sustainability dimensions and among the expert groups are verified.
