Digital platforms play a crucial role in facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and promoting open access to information, significantly contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this regard, the establishment of the Research Career Observatory (OCER) platform represents a central objective of this research, aiming to support the career development of young researchers in Romania by providing valuable resources, useful tools, and a conducive digital environment.
This article analyses the conceptual framework of the OCER platform and details its technical structure, highlighting the functionalities designed to address the diverse needs of stakeholders, including young researchers, academic institutions, and policymakers. By integrating educational resources, mentorship opportunities, and performance monitoring mechanisms, OCER aims to contribute to the development of a sustainable and inclusive research ecosystem.
Furthermore, future research directions focus on the national implementation of the platform, including the creation of an appropriate legislative framework and formal integration with higher education institutions. This initiative not only aims to strengthen the academic landscape in Romania but also supports researchers in their pursuits of excellence and innovation.
