Editorial mission

Our editorial mission is the independent publishing of professionals’ research results, which serves an engaged and focused audience who demands authenticity, passion for economics and related fields, transparency, and intellect.

Our voice is authentic and passionate, considering different perspectives and experiences, enabling professionals to share their knowledge and perspectives.

The authors are responsible for the accuracy of their published output, but everyone who touches the copy during editing shares in that responsibility. Research papers are verified before publication – they are peer-reviewed, both scientifically and language-wise. The editorial team is always up against deadlines.

Peer Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to TJEB will be first evaluated by the Editor. This initial evaluation is intended to check if:

  • the manuscript fits the journal focus and editorial policy;
  • the research is novel and original, without any scientific flaws, and uses sound methodologies;
  • the manuscript is properly structured and it is written in good English.

A manuscript which meets these minimal criteria will then enter in a double-blind review process. The manuscript will be sent to two anonymous reviewers, chosen according to their expertise in the field of the paper. Each reviewer will provide a detailed report on the manuscript, based on the TJEB review form, and will make recommendations to the editor regarding the acceptance or rejection of the paper. Both reviewers' reports, along with the Editor's own comments, will be made available to the author.

The author will be informed about the outcome of the review process, which could be:

  • Accept without revision.
  • Revise and resubmit - the author will be asked to make changes to the manuscript according to the reviewers' comments and suggestions and to resubmit the manuscript.
  • Reject – the editor will explain the reasons behind this editorial decision to the author.

No publishing or any other fees are charged by our journal.

We are thankful for the support offered by the managerial staff of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, within the West University of Timisoara.

Journal History

The journal was first issued in the spring of 2008 by a group of academic staff from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration within the West University of Timisoara. At that time, the journal was called the Timisoara Journal of Economics (TJE) and it covered primarily the economic field.

During the period 2008 - 2011 the journal was issued quarterly, published in the first two years in bilingual version, Romanian and English. Since 2012, the journal is issued twice a year.

In the summer of 2012 another important step was taken in terms of organization, by implementing the journal's online platform which would help towards a more rigorous and efficient management of the journal's overall activity.

The journal went through a rebranding process in early 2013, resulted in the change of its name to Timisoara Journal of Economics and Business (TJEB) in order to extend its coverage.

Since March 2014, based on a publishing services agreement, we started a collaboration with De Gruyter Open, that becomes the Publisher of Timisoara Journal of Economics and Busines. As a consequence, TJEB participating in a growing community of CrossCheck System’s users and starting with the 7th volume, all papers use DOI (Digital Object Identifier) as a permanent citation link to content article.

Since 2018, due to rebranding from De Gruyter Open to Sciendo, we are on Sciendo website too.
