General information and editorial policy
Sommerfeltia is a series of monographs in plant taxonomy, phytogeography, phytosociology, plant ecology, plant morphology, and evolutionary botany.
Sommerfeltia appears at irregular intervals, normally one article per volume.
All costs associated with publishing in Sommerfeltia, including technical editing, is covered by the authors. Please contact the editor for further information.
Printed copies can be obtained at the authors' cost.
A supplement series, Sommerfeltia Supplement, is issued for publications that do not fit into the format of the main series.
Instructions for authors
Sommerfeltia accepts scientific papers of 32 printed pages or more, in English.
The abstract should not exceed 300 words. The author is responsible for ensuring that the English is linguistically correct.
Manuscripts to Sommerfeltia must not have been published or accepted for publication elsewhere.
Manuscripts are subjected to peer reviewing by at least two reviewers, before acceptance or rejection is decided.
Authors of planned contributions to Sommerfeltia are recommended to contact the editor early in the writing process. Manuscripts, in Microsoft Word, should, as far as possible, be prepared by the author to fit the layout of the series. Manuscript templates may be obtained.
The hierarchy of headings may include four levels.
Figures and Tables should be submitted as separate files.
Coloured illustrations are accepted when extra costs are paid for by the author. Taxonomic keys should have right margins and be based on dichotomies. References should be written according to current practice in Sommerfeltia, with journal names abbreviated according to the World List of Scientific Periodicals. Recent issues of Sommerfeltia (Volumes 33-34) should be consulted for details of layout.
