Acta Medica Transilvanica journal (AMTSB) is a medical scientific journal, first published in 1996. Ever since, the aim of AMTSB has been to advance and disseminate scientific knowledge and research results as developed by professionals from the field of medicine and medical higher education in all its facets.
Acta Medica Transilvanica is an open-access journal, published quarterly, and only in English. It covers a large variety of medical specialties, such as: public health, health management, neurology, psychiatry, infectious diseases, ophthalmology, endocrinology, surgery, cardiology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, laboratory, internal medicine, immunology, dentistry etc.
AMTSB accepts for publication review articles, original scientific articles, case reports from all areas of the medical field.
AMTSB makes every effort to counter publication malpractices. Therefore, all articles are submitted to a peer-review process and screened for plagiarism.
The aim of Acta Medica Transilvanica is to promote medical research, especially Romanian medical research and to stimulate and support the young generation of research physicians.
The journal targets all professionals within the field of medicine and those from medical higher education who wish to express their points of view or to communicate the results of their research activity in the field of preventive and curative medicine.
The journal publishes original articles revealing recent research results in the medical field, review articles providing up-to-date analysis or discussion on research previously published by others, case reports describing interesting and exceptional clinical cases the authors have been confronted with.

Sciendo archives the contents of this journal in Portico - digital long-term preservation service of scholarly books, journals and collections.
