Investigating the Sustainability of UNESCO World Heritage Sites
The sustainability of UNESCO World Heritage Sites demands a comprehensive and multifaceted approach, considering the diverse layers of significance these sites embody and their broader context within heritage preservation frameworks. Rich in cultural and historical value, these sites necessitate actions beyond the simple conservation of monuments and ensembles. They also require environmental conservation measures, as many host unique ecosystems endangered by climate change and human activities. Additionally, managing tourism impacts is crucial, as tourism, while a significant source of revenue, can jeopardize site integrity and adversely affect local communities.
We invite proposals that present empirical or theoretical perspectives on the following topics:
