Croatian Review of Economic, Business and Social Statistics (CREBSS) is a scientific journal published by SCIENDO on behalf of the Croatian Statistical Society. It publishes original and high-quality articles focused on statistical methods developed and applied in economy, business processes and social sciences in a very broad meaning. It targets a very wide audience of statisticians, whether they are scientists, professionals, educators or students, influencing modern economy, business and society. The journal also encourages submissions that describe scientifically interesting, complex or novel statistical modelling aspects from a wide diversity of disciplines, and submissions that embrace the diversity of applied statistics.

It attempts to provide a platform for the presentation and critical assessment of statistical methods, in particular for the discussion of their methodological foundations as well as their potential applications. Methods that have broad applications will be preferred. However, special attention is given to those statistical methods which are relevant to the economic and social sciences. In addition to original research papers, readers will find survey articles, short notes, problem section and book reviews.

CREBSS aims to be the major resource for applied statistical modelling, covering both methodology and practice. Its goal is to be multidisciplinary in nature, promoting the ideas between substantive research areas. The intention in publishing such manuscripts is to provide an opportunity for readers to see the potential to transform data analysis in this field. The goal of the CREBSS journal is to demonstrate how statistical science, research design and analysis methods play important roles in economy, business and society. The journal targets the current issues regarding the official statistics data production, and discusses the broad variety of applied statistical problems that might be outcomes of scientific survey research design, experimental design or observational study of economy, business and for different social issues, respecting the overall turbulent influences caused by the modern ICT and software development. In this respect, the CREBSS journal fosters the exchange of ideas, experience and knowledge among statisticians.

The journal does not have article processing charges (APCs) nor article submission charges.

Papers submitted for publication should be original, theoretical, practical and applied papers. The journal also publishes case studies describing innovative applications and critical reviews of statistical theory.

The anonymous double-blind peer review by the two independent reviewers is applied to all the papers.

Why submit

The CREBSS journal is a good opportunity for publication of research focusing either on statistical theory or on statistical methods applications in economics, business and social issues. Areas such as finance and commerce, management, marketing, and also in agriculture, industry, construction, engineering, demography, psychology, sociology, law, politics, opinion polling, government, education, biomedical and physical sciences, health and medicine, pharmaceutics, kinesiology, ecology, environment, tourism, sports, leisure, ICT and quality issues are welcome. Statistical data collection, processing, compilation, dissemination, and data exploration and analysis, with organizations, regions, countries, or persons as possible units or levels of the analysis, all might be of interest. Since any interesting topic and applications of statistics are welcome, there are no restrictions to subject matters. Papers emphasising current concerns regarding statistical theory and challenging applied problems in multi- and cross-discipline issues (such as computational statistics, data mining and pattern recognition, simulation modelling, or related to optimization, mathematical programming, etc.), resulting with new statistical approaches are of special interest. It is expected that papers are methodologically well sounded, and that real-life problems are treated, showing novel solutions.
