Next Generation Mobile Communication System with Cognitive Radio, OFDM and Beamforming Tecnique

Abstract

This work explores beam forming and two-way relaying to alleviate the dual issues of the spectrum congestion and spectrum under-utilization. These problems can be alleviated by the implementation of underlay cognitive radio networks. However, their reliability, capacity or power, and coverage depend on bi-directional or abbreviated as primary-to-secondary (P2S) and secondary-to-primary (S2P) interference constraints. This work makes of two-way relaying to improve these essential and paramount efficiencies, performance and effectiveness measures.

Modeling the I- λ-T Characteristic for Photovoltaic Systems Storage Batteries During Charging Process

Abstract

In this paper is presented a numerical method for measurement and analysis of the charging characteristics I-λ-t (battery current-irradiance-time) of storage batteries for photovoltaic (PV) power systems. The experimental data is obtained from the PV modules by a data acquisition system built in the charger component. An algorithm developed as a Matlab source code is used to model the charging characteristics of the batteries connected to a PV system. Using the interpolation method, the mathematical function of total battery current and depending on time and illumination are obtained. The numerical values of the errors between the theoretical and experimental results prove the accuracy of the proposed method.

On the Correction of the Power Factor in Modern Low-Voltage Power Electrical Installations

Abstract

The paper presents the main electrical loads that require reactive power, evaluating also its value in different operating states of the industrial installation (permanent sinusoidal or distorted). Also, the effects of reactive power flow in the networks are quantitatively estimated and accordingly, a series of specific power quality indicators (e.g. power factor, crest factor, total harmonic distortion) are highlighted. Different types of solutions dedicated to reduce the level of reactive power are also suggested. The proper design of the power factor correction systems is directly correlated with the consumer power quality parameters. A case-study will round up the work, underling the major importance of the reactive power flow in modern electric installations.

Design, Analysis of 4×4 and 8×8 MIMO System with ZF, MMSE and BF Techniques

Abstract

This work focuses on studying signal detection using three different equalization techniques, namely: Zero Forcing (ZF), Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) and Beam Forming (BF), for a 4×4 MIMO-system. Results show that ZF equalization is the simplest technique for signal detection, However, Beam Forming (BF) gives better Bit Error Rate (BER) performances at high Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) values with some complexity in design. For more antennas at the base station, it is too complex to design the weight matrix for ZF, however, it is suitable for BF with the help of good quality digital signal processors. Performance of MIMO-system, with 8 antennas at the base station using BF equalization, is analysed to get BER values at different SNR. Results show a considerable improvement in BER for 8 antennas at the base station.

Abstract

If the electrons and holes in excess are created in a semiconductor, either by means of light absorption, or using other methods, the thermic balance is disturbed, therefore these electrons and holes should be nullified after the source had been stopped. This process is named recombination. There are three main recombination types: radioactive, Auger and deep energy level recombination. All three are based on the doping concentration to a certain point. The life time is determined using the three recombination processes in semiconductor.

Abstract

Researchers have already proved that data consumption in coming years will increase by leaps and bounds, so the present technologies like 3G, OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) cannot hold the addition of huge capacitance, data use and demand of high data-rate. Hence, on that point is a necessity of fifth generation mobile communication system (5G). Presently the rollout for 5G is going virtually everywhere in the world and among several issues; selection of better modulation techniques is seen as unitary of the significant issues in the implementation of the 5G. In this work, we designed and analyse the performance of OFDM and FBMC (Filter Band Multi Carrier) multicarrier modulation schemes on the basis of Bit Error rate (BER) and Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR). Simulation results and mathematical analysis have confirmed that the performance and spectrum utilization of FBMC is better or equivalent as compared to OFDM, which can be very useful in next generation mobile communication and Internet of Things (IOT).

Compatible Biomaterials Used In Rhinology Surgery – Our Expertise

Abstract

In the last decades, rhinology has developed in a great manner concerning new surgical techniques and extending the use of compatible biomaterials in order to achieve normal morphology and normal functional aspect after surgery (endoscopic or open approach). Since biomaterials are integrated in biological active organs and systems, they have to be easily accepted by the receiver with no toxicity, inflammation or other side effects. The authors try to review all biocompatible materials used in several rhinological pathologies in order to obtain the best results after functional or reconstructive surgery. In rhinological surgery there are usually used homograft’s but the use of biomaterials like alloplastics (silicone, high density polyethylene, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc.) has widely increased. The authors present their experience in endoscopic approach of choanal atresia using nasal stents, closure techniques for septal perforation using nasal splints, endoscopic drainage and sinus ventilation using balloon sinuplasty, lacrimal pathway obstruction using double margin stent and some materials used in cosmetic and reconstructive rhinoplasty.

Present manuscript deals with the biometric identification and security. Features exploited for the purpose are the principal lines of the palm of an individual. We developed an algorithm which extracts palm region from a human hand, calculates few palm specific parameters using only principal lines that differentiate one palm from another and then verifies it against a database which contain s the palms of the registered users.

Characteristics Analysis of Battery Used in Equipment for Monitoring and Remote Transmission of Vital Human Parameters

Abstract

Nowadays, the use of remote monitoring and transmission of vital parameters became extremely common, because these systems reduce the degree of risk among ill people and provide an additional time necessary for the intervention teams - in case of emergency action. Generally, these devices monitor and transmit data as values of blood pressure and the heart rate. This equipment permanently worn by the ill people have as sources of electric energy supply batteries or accumulators. The behavior of batteries and the parameters measurement for different operating states are defined as particularly important analyses, especially in terms of voltage and time. In this article we have analyzed two types of batteries (Lithium-Ion and Nickel-Metal Hydride) with different characteristics, using a monitoring device that measures the depth of discharge (DOD) while under load in our biomedical system. The battery characterizations were made while the system was operating measuring the body signs and transmitting the data.

The technology used is based on image processing which creates a special hardware (transducer). The virtual labeling is the essential idea of this system. It synchronizes two essential things: the actual object and a set of exact coordinates to be retained in a database, with the ultimate goal of relocating them by bringing them into the visual field.
