<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>The paper presents modern technological solutions used in landscape architecture, with special emphasis on their occurrence in the areas of historical greenery. Dynamic introduction of new tools allows us to take special care of valuable areas, stressing their importance and at the same time granting them new functions. The latter part discusses a specific example of this type of solutions from the area of Katowice. These are modern developments that make the historic pattern of industrial city more legible.</p></abstract>
