Austria's industry is under great pressure. Global competition has intensified in recent years, along with international trade conflicts and tensions between the major economic blocs. At the same time, industrial value creation in Austria is suffering from high labor and energy costs as well as increasing bureaucracy and tighter regulatory requirements. In January 2024, Deloitte conducted a survey among more than 500 WKO member companies from all trade associations in the industrial sector to identify the most important challenges facing Austria's industry.
