Regional education is an enduring process, which serves to introduce children into the cultural world of their most immediate society, while simultaneously preparing them for a life as part of a community. Regional education enables a better understanding of individuals hailing from the local community as well as makes it easier for students to find answers to the questions: Who are they? What are their roots? According to what values do people from their family and locality act? How does the culture they were born and raised into differ from those found in other regions of Poland? This article demonstrates the importance and benefits of regional education as well as the employment of project method in regional education, on the basis of particular methodological approaches.
