The practice of using over-the-counter (OTC) medications is popular in Poland. The self-medicating practice with OTC drugs can bring both benefits and risks. This paper presents the potential risk of the availability of OTC drugs, especially in non-pharmacy retail. We present examples of solutions that can improve patient safety.
