“Lingnan” is a geographical concept referring to the area south of the Five Ridges (Dayu Ridge, Qitian Ridge, Mengzhu Ridge, Dupang Ridge, and Yuecheng Ridge). Historically, it includes the present-day provinces of Guangdong, Hainan, Hong Kong, and Macau, as well as most of Guangxi and northern Vietnam. Today, Lingnan refers to the three administrative regions of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau. This study focuses on the Lingnan region as it is currently defined, covering the period from the initial introduction of foreign fruit trees to Lingnan until 1949. Search in Google Scholar
