The main purpose of this paper is to investigate how the number, perceived intensity, and frequency of sensory involvement in the consumer-brand relationship, impact brand perception. The research was conducted on a sample of 189 respondents from the Republic of Croatia. To test the hypotheses factor and regression analyses were used. The main findings of this research are: a) involvement of multiple senses in the consumer-brand relationship has a positive effect on brand perception; b) the greater the frequency of involving multiple senses in the consumer-brand relationship, the more positive effect it has on brand perception; and c) the higher intensity of sensory involvement in the consumer-brand relationship does not have a significant effect on brand perception. This research contributes to marketing and brand management literature by investigating importance of sensory marketing, more specifically number, perceived intensity, and frequency of sensory involvement on brand perception.

Communication between seller and buyer is done through multiple channels. There are multiple ways to use technical media and channel selection to create more information, but does this lead to a better performance of a firm? Research on the impact of different marketing channels in the industry regarding performance factors remains scarce. The performance of a firm is the most significant factor and will be monitored through different attributes. The purpose of this paper is to review the drivers of a sales process in terms of sales cycles, channels and communication in relation to it’s effect on performance. Beyond the characteristics of sales the review delineates the changes from the past to the present. The contribution of this review is to understand the various capabilities in channel management and communication that can be adapted to the sales process and increase a firm’s performance.

Performance in B2B Sales: An Explanation of How Channel Management and Communication Influence a Firm’s Performance

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>Numerous factors affect the rate of return that a financial institution earns. Some of these factors include external forces that shape earnings performance and internal elements found in each financial institution. Policy implications are determined by the type of explanation and should be taken seriously. This paper classifies determinants of bank profitability as well as reviews existing literature on bank performance. The second section of this study quantifies how external factors and internal determinants have influenced the profitability of EU banks. This paper constructs fixed-effect models and Ordinary Least Squares (OLS), which sheds new light on understanding various factors influencing how the EU banking industry performs. The observation period was from 2012 to 2019, and the findings revealed that EU bank profitability is influenced by both external macroeconomic environment and management decisions. The results of this study suggest that equity to assets ratio (EA), Gap ratio, and GDP have a positive impact on bank profitability, while the loan to assets ratio (LA) and the provision for loan losses to total loans ratio (PLL/TL) hurt EU bank profitability. The empirical findings are consistent with the expected results, although, they are different from those of studies that investigated the structure-performance relationship of EU banks because they found that market share and concentration have a positive effect on bank profitability.</abstract>

Challenges of Banking Profitability in Eurozone Countries: Analysis of Specific and Macroeconomic Factors

Agile transformation is identified as a facilitator to keep pace with frequent changes within product development. Although initial research exists, the empirical literature on the implementation process of the agile approach, specifically using pilot projects as a change strategy, is scarce. The purpose of this article is to contribute to closing this gap by investigating into effects of piloting agile change projects. To shed light on agile pilots a project within the context of mechatronic system development in the high-tech industry was accompanied over six months. After the initiation of the members and a period of practicing agile a survey was performed. The interviewed team members are bringing up interesting findings, as although they had a different understanding of agile at the beginning of the pilot, they recognized agile values, principles and methods as supportive to the products cycle and specifically development time. Further findings are indicating that professional third-party support is a key success factor. Also piloting, as a change strategy for agile adoption, is proven to be supportive. Although piloting is proven a supportive strategy, the downsides, such as limited scalability caused by extraordinary setups, are identified and analyzed. The limiting factor of this single-case study is the small sample size of data due to the intention of the pilot project to limit impact and risk on the organization.

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>The main aim of this paper is to identify the underlying reasons for the cyclical nature of the Hungarian housing market, in particular the business cycles, the construction, and market participants’ expectations. Our research was conducted based on analysis of statistical data and of the housing market indices. As a result, it can be stated that cyclic behaviour of the housing market may be explained primarily with business cycles, but state subsidies and mortgages also affect the variations. Accordingly, the increasing lending and the high amount of subsidies can generate a price bubble. The supply of second-hand dwellings looks more flexible compared with that of new ones. However, the expectations of market operators do not have a demonstrable effect on the housing market.</abstract>

Cycles of the Housing Market in Hungary from the Economic Crisis until Today

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> In February 2013, the European Union successfully completed more than 30 years of negotiations and formally signed an agreement establishing a single European patent. The agreement brought about a more competitive patent law compared with that in the United States and Japan. The agreement resulted in a number of advantages, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, such as the reduction of costs by as much as 80%, simplification of procedures, and the adoption of the Unified Patent Court. With the new unitary patent, intellectual property will grow in importance. Yet experts warn that the new patent results in new forms of unwanted behavior, such as forum shopping and the emergence of patent trolls. This study presents both sides-the pros and cons-to predict the effects on business and cover the widest possible range of experts, providing their views on the topic.</abstract>

Global leading and leadership are two of the most relevant topics in contemporary management literature, as shown by the scientific interest and the number of papers that reflect this topic from several different points of view. This paper’s purpose was to review the current research and papers published in this field in the last decade. For this purpose, visualization was done in the VOSviewer application. Findings show that the frequency of publication had doubled in the analyzed period, with the following competencies considered the most important ones for global leaders: a global mindset, emotional intelligence, high ethical standards, fairness, empowering individuals in the team, and caring for your team. The paper provides insight into general trends in research and key research conclusions that have implications and applications in the real sector. It proposes directions for future research based on detected research gaps.

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>
This paper aims to verify the relationship between the international markets for crude oil and carbon credits. We studied the returns of prices practiced in these markets, focusing on the transmission of shocks between oil prices and carbon credit prices. The methodological approach used financial econometrics to study these variables’ risk and return relationships. Besides causality and cointegration hypothesis tests, the VECM and GARCH models were estimates. There is a short- and long-term interaction between these variables. The volatility models show a significant association between the volatilities of the two variables of interest. Fossil fuels, mainly crude oil, generate energy that has substantial restrictions. At the same time, the carbon credits market has shown significant growth that can contribute to the use of energy from fossil fuels with parsimony and responsibility. Studying these variables and their interactions contributes to understanding the importance of the carbon market.

Carbon Credits and Crude Oil: An Investigation of the Price Returns Interaction in the International Market

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>
Recurrent health crises and outbreaks of infectious diseases of international concern have created a specific EU public health policy. Its role was further strengthened by the COVID-19 pandemic, which triggered the next stage in the integration process of the Member States: the European Health Union. The research is carried out using a literature review method (a review of literature and documents in the field of public health policy and the European Health Union) and a comparative-legal method for comparing EU legal acts on which the Health Union is based (endogenous comparison) and the legal acts of EU and the Republic of Slovenia (exogenous comparison). The findings are examined using a qualitative content analysis method, which allows for meaningful aggregation and use of the data under study to answer the research questions. The European Health Union builds on and extends existing areas of public health and requires greater integration between Member States. One of its most essential pillars is a single information system with a single database to improve the health of individuals, resilience to cross-border health crises, patient mobility, and joint research on the most severe diseases. Member States, including Slovenia, must follow EU public health commitments. As the Slovenian legislative proposal analysis on the digitalization of healthcare shows, this challenging task will also require respect for the institute (safeguards) of other areas of law.

Although, in theory, a considerable amount of literature emphasizes the significance of employee incentive pay, there is not much empirical research indicating their dispersion in practice. The primary purpose of this study is to explore the level of implementation of various incentives in three countries: Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The research was conducted on a sample of 321 companies. Data for this study were extracted from the CRANET dataset. The latest data collection cycle was conducted in 2021-2022. In addition to descriptive statistics, the Pearson Chi-Square Test and Cramer’s V test were used to test hypotheses. The research results indicate a statistically significant difference in using most observed compensation elements among the observed countries. The study contributes to compensation management literature by presenting empirical data regarding the degree of implementation of various compensation instruments in three observed countries.

From Theory to Practice: Incentives for Managers and Professionals

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>
The study of wage determinants goes back to the beginning of economic science, with theoretical and empirical foundations providing the basis for the specification of a model of the wage function. Using the OLS method, we study the determinants of real wages for Estonia between 2006Q3 and 2022Q3 and Latvia between 2004Q1 and 2022Q3. The lagged dependent variable exerts the most considerable impact on real wages, i.e., real wages in the preceding quarter. We find that unemployment has a relatively larger impact on real wage dynamics than real productivity in the Latvian than in Estonian model. In the Estonian model, real productivity has a relatively stronger impact than unemployment in explaining real wages. In both countries, changes in real productivity impact real wages with a one-quarter lag. The findings on the relative influence of real wage determinants guide economic policymakers in targeting measures that could increase real wages in both countries.

Eye-tracking technology has become increasingly popular in studying consumer behavior and decision-making as a part of the marketing research area. The paper highlights the importance of eye tracking in the study of consumer behavior including the use of eye tracking in virtual reality environments, the integration of eye tracking with other physiological measures, and the development of more sophisticated analytical techniques. By observing eye movements and fixations researchers can gain insight into the visual and cognitive processes underlying consumer choices. For this reason, a literature review of relevant studies provides a detailed synthesis of the development of eye-tracking experiments. This paper contributes to the latest findings on consumer behavior in the field of eye-tracking technology.

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>The concept of health-promoting leadership focuses on the interaction between the organization and the individual by identifying components able to positively influence employees’ working conditions. In the present study, the effects of health-promoting leadership and transformational leadership on the employees’ recovery–stress balance are investigated. In an online study, 212 Slovenian workers were asked about their perceptions of their direct supervisors and their work-related stress and recovery. The results showed that both leadership styles have a significant effect on employees’ recovery at the workplace, which mediated the relationship between leadership and work-related stress.</abstract>

Similarities and Differences of Health-promoting Leadership and Transformational Leadership

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>The main purpose of this paper is to assess a possible impact millennials will have on the future business environment of Industry 4.0, based on their personal value orientations. Millennials are taking over important roles in organizations, but their personal values are significantly different from those of older generations. This paper shows that, based on the Schwartz’s value survey with <italic>N</italic>=371 Slovenian respondents, millennials are in general more inclined toward values connected to personal growth and freedom from anxiety, emphasizing self-transcendence and openness to change, than toward self-protection and anxiety avoidance, understating conservation and self-enhancement values. These cognitions can have significant implications in shaping the future business environment of Industry 4.0, as it can become more open, understanding, collaborative, accepting, and generally more supporting, thus creating the evident millennials’ effect. Even though millennials are in general well prepared for the future business environment, organizations will have to, in order to retain the millennials, reshape their current organizational environment to better reflect the millennials’ views.</abstract>

CSR is a good opportunity for a company’s differentiation, but only if customers value the company’s efforts in this field. Loyalty is a primary goal of each company, but it is influenced by numerous factors. The goal of this paper was to examine if CSR influences customer loyalty as one possible factor. Based on the presented results, management recommendations are provided concerning business strategy, mission, and vision formulation, so companies can fulfill customers’ interests and gain their loyalty.</abstract>

Does Customer Loyalty Depend on Corporate Social Responsibility?

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> This paper analyses possible challenges and opportunities that Mexican female entrepreneurs face during the establishment of new enterprises. Based on in-depth interviews with female entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship experts, authors researched opportunities in the form of governmental and non-governmental institutional support, growing entrepreneurship, social awareness and women empowerment. However, lack of credibility, fear of vulnerability to criticism and social pressure are some challenges associated with gender egalitarianism. In such, the authors proved that Mexican culture impacts women in some ways more than the others. Institutional collectivism was the cultural dimension with higher positive impact on women, followed by gender egalitarianism with a neutral to positive impact and the power distance with a neutral influence on women.</abstract>

Cultural Foundations of Female Entrepreneurship in Mexico: Challenges and Opportunities

<abstract><title style='display:none'>Abstract</title>Global foreign direct investment flows in terms of greenfield and brownfield investments have increased during the recent three decades resulting from the accelerating globalization. The considerable increases in the flows of foreign direct investment have many eventualities for the national economies. This study investigates the mutual effects among greenfield and brownfield (mergers and acquisitions) investments and economic growth in Central and Eastern European Union countries during the 2003–2015 period employing panel data analysis. The findings revealed that both greenfield and brownfield investments had positive influence on the economic growth, but the influence of greenfield investments was found to be relatively higher. Furthermore, one-way causality was discovered from both greenfield and brownfield investments to the economic growth.</abstract>

On the other hand, the production and use of renewables fosters the development of new technologies, creating many new opportunities for entrepreneurial-minded individuals and, consequently, the economy in general. Renewable energy technologies have a multiplier effect in spurring the economy and the development of not only the energy sector but also all the supporting activities related to such industry.
