<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>This article presents basic ideas for flexible design in construction investments through the presentation of methods used for assessing the financial effectiveness of investments. The classification of these methods based on two main factors, time and risk, is shown. The authors propose an algorithm for the analysis of the economic efficiency of projects implemented in a flexible manner.</p></abstract>
