The current year is the 350th anniversary of the medical inauguration of Ferenc Pápai Páriz at Basel University. For the inauguration celebration on October 20, 1674 his professors, supporters and friends compiled a set of solemn greetings published in an independent volume, the Vota Solennia. The 17 greeting poems were written in Latin, Greek, French, Hungarian, German and Romanian languages. Six of the greetings were written by Hungarian fellow students in peregrination: Tamás Veresegyházi, Lőrinc Pekri, István Kolosvári, János Kállai Kopis, János Békés Horvát and János Rácz-Beszermény. To date only 6 of the greeting poems have been published in Hungarian. In this article we present the translation of the full volume of Vota Solennia. The translations of István Tóth published in 1977 are supplemented by the rest of the poems translated by the colleagues at the Institute of Languages for Specific Purposes of Semmelweis University in 2024.
