Knee pain, one of the most frequent symptoms for which a patient enlists the help of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Ambulatory services is caused by a pathology that mainly includes chronic knee osteoarthritis (a chronic degenerative rheumatic disease) and post-traumatic injuries (fractures, sprains, ligament or meniscal injuries). The knee joint is one of the most strained joints, on one hand by extreme physical effort, prolonged orthostatism or increased body weight; on the other hand, by the injuries to which it is exposed. The purpose of this study is to analyse and objectify whether there are differences in regards to socio-medical considerations, comparing chronic knee osteoarthritis and post-traumatic knee injuries.
