Published in 2012 at Edizioni Culturali Internazionali Genova, Daniela Virdis’s book suggests a novel endeavour, circumscribed to the intersection of the fields of gender and linguistic studies, applied on media studies. The atypical element of the research derives precisely from her choice of discourses submitted to debate, a linguistic and cultural mix as surprising and as ambitious: TV shows (Sex and the City, Desperate Housewives, The Simpsons, Nip/Tuck), film (When Harry Met Sally...) and novel (Bridget Jones’s Diary).
