The paper presents the analysis of selected Christian sacral buildings realized in Germany since 2000. Because of the wide range of the question, mostly the aesthetical aspects was discussed. However, in particular cases some important symbolical and functional determinants need to be emphasized. Tendencies that are recognizable in contemporary composition of ecclesiastical architecture were also confronted with the traditions, that are characteristic for German modern architecture. This invites to reflect on the issue of cultural continuity, but what is more it allows to outline the image of the newest sacral European architecture.
