Physical Culture and Sport. Studies and Research is directed to the representatives of the social sciences of sport (philosophers, sociologists, pedagogues, managers of sport, and theoreticians of sport from particular or general point of view). The main goal of the journal is to present the most current (and only the best) papers from European, Western and Eastern countries of the world. It focuses on symbolic, axiological, and comparative aspects of contemporary sport. We dedicated this journal to humanists, social researchers, students, and practitioners.

All manuscripts submitted to the Physical Culture and Sport. Studies and Research are subject to a double anonymized review process. All contributions are initially assessed by the editor for suitability for the journal. Papers deemed suitable are then typically sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to evaluate the scientific quality of the paper based on its originality, soundness of methodology, impact to design research, and relevance to design practices. The Editor is responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles. Reviewers’ scoring and assessment criteria may be found at for authors.
A revised manuscript file shall include highlights where changes have been made. There should be no tracked changes. Please ensure you submit a separate response to reviewer’s file.
After acceptance of the paper, we kindly ask authors to provide us with their proof corrections within five days to ensure a fast publication process of the article.
PUBLICATION CHARGES
Since September 1st 2023 authors who choose to publish in Physical Culture and Sport. Studies and Research have been required to pay an article-processing charge (APC). The collected fee is used to cover general publishing costs (editing, peer review, proofreading, hosting, archiving, preservation), with any surplus transferred to the journal.
APC of €600 (EUR)/ $660 (USD)/ 2800zł (PLN) applies to papers accepted after peer review. There are no charges for rejected articles, no submission charges, and no surcharges based on the length of an article, figures or supplementary data.
Local VAT or Sales Tax will be added if applicable.

All submissions to the Physical Culture and Sport. Studies and Research (PCSSR) should be made electronically at mc.manuscriptcentral.com/pcssr. Any paper submitted should not be under consideration for publication at another journal. All submitted papers must also represent original work, and should fully reference and describe all prior work on the same subject and compare the submitted paper to that work.

The title page and main manuscript files must be submitted in an editable format.
Concise and informative title. In title case, major words are capitalized, and most minor words are lowercase (Title Case Capitalization – APA Style).
Author names and affiliations.
Statement of responsibility in the manuscript that specifies the contribution of every author according to the following code: A) conception and design of the study, B) acquisition of data, C) analysis and interpretation of data, D) manuscript preparation, E) obtaining funding.
Corresponding author with their e-mail address and full postal address.
A concise and factual abstract is required (maximum length of 250 words). The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, methods, principal results and major conclusions.
Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of 5 keywords. The keywords should not overlap with the title.
Article structure shall include sections:
Introduction presenting purposes of the study and providing background for the paper. A pertinent literature review with explicit international connections for relevant ideas shall be provided. The theoretical underpinnings and key concepts of your paper shall be explained, outlining connections to relevant scholarly work in the field of research.
Methods presenting sufficient detail to allow the context of the work to be thoroughly understood and/or for the work to be reproduced.
Results should be clear and concise.
Discussion exploring the significance of the results of the work, not repeating them. It is crucial to connect the results with relevant literature.
The conclusion section must succintly tell the reader how and why it is that what's been presented is significant for practice, policy or further research.
