<abstract xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

<p>The prevalence of urogenital mycoplasmas in men with NGU in Upper Silesia (Poland) was studied. Mycoplasmas were detected in 36.7% men (<italic>Ureaplasma parvum</italic> and <italic>Mycoplasma genitalium</italic> were found in 30% and 16.7% respectively). <italic>Urealyticum urealyticum</italic> was not detected. We suggest including <italic>M. genitalium</italic> in the diagnostic scheme for nongonococcal urethritis (NGU).</p>
